I have an '06 Honda Accord, dark blue that is having issues with the paint. I believe its an issue with the clear coat but not positive. I can say that this car has been waxed at least twice a year since i purchased it new in '06.

I park outside at home and in a garage at work, i know a little backwards but that's my situation.

From looking at the pictures does this look like a clear coat that is failing or just a car in need of a wash, clay, paint correction, polish, sealant and wax? The picture is of the worse area on the car, the top. the trunk and hood have a few little spots coming through as well but no where near as bad.

If it is failing my only choice is getting the clear coat resprayed, correct?

thanks in advance for your help.

Your pics are too ambiguous for me hand.

Initially wanted to say yes on cc starting to fail.
Then after viewing hood shot, looks like a product that was applied somewhere along the line that was not completely removed.

Anyway, happy detailing.

It may be the start of clear coat failure. You can try using a polish to see if it is something different.

I have a 2006 Honda Accord (black in color) and am having very similar issues on the hood. Based on my research both here on Autogeek and elsewhere I believed it is clearcoat failure. I too have washed the car weekly, spray waxed after each wash and waxed it with quality wax at least 2-3 times per year since purchasing the car. The car is garaged at home and parked outside at work. Unfortunately short of a repaint, I don't know that it can be completely remedied.
