I see under the new items in the store are 3M Flexible Abrasive Hookit Sheets, 5-1/2" x 6-3/4". Now I understand the Hookit discs are used with the Hookit backing plates on a machine...what are you supposed to attach the rectangular sheets to?

On 3M Hook-It Hand Blocks?

What makes you say that? Even if I don't I like to keep abreast of the technology so I'll know it's there if I need it.
You have other products that are 15 years old that you need to use before you buy anything new, right? :p :dblthumb2:

Oh shoot, I got sandpaper way older than that, I was just using some last night (not on my car).

implying that you may already have the hand block and just need a source for the sheets? *shrug*

No, not at all, I was just browsing the "What's New" page, saw Hookit sheets, and wondered what you hooked them to! Once FUNX posted that picture it was obvious that 3M had an answer, just seems AG doesn't yet.

Check. Got ya. :props:

Until they do...(And to AGO be true):
(Optional) Cut the sandpaper to fit a: "Hook-It-style-disc".

That would seem to be an unnecessary step since they already sell Hookit discs and backing plates.

Not to someone that: really had to have them, immediately...(if not sooner).

Glad that someone is not me.

Well, my initial thought was how great this setup would be for leveling touchup paint blobs, much easier than wrapping sheets around that foam block...but I see the sheets that AG is selling only go up (down?) to 1500 grit.

-May be sort of a: "protective-move"...on AGO's part?
-This is only the beginnings of AGO's stocking of this 3M "system"?

[Hook-It Sanding Block(s) to follow, also?]

:dunno:

Probably a smart marketing move for the loyal followers of this type of product. I would agree that this is probably just the beginning of AG carrying the Hook-it system - just putting feelers out to see who bites and how often..
