Hello Mike, I'm a big fan of your work and Wolfgang products. I recently inadvertently used Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant on the interior of my 2016 Jag F-Type non-leather. It looks great.
Question: is it okay or should I remove it and use the respective Interior sealant?
All the best,
Mark

Is Mike Phillips still with Auto Geek or if anyone else knows that answer to my question, that would be great. Is it okay to use Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant in the interior non-leather surfaces? I guess if no one answers, I'll eventually find out.
All the best,
Mark

I'm not sure he sees every post. WETS is good for plastics, so I don't see why it'd hurt your interior. It may just end up being greasier or shinier than you'd like. If you like how it looks, then I'd leave it alone. Eventually you're going to clean it again and I'd using something designed for interiors next time.

Wolfgang WETS might leave a little bit of oily residue behind on interior surfaces. If as you say you have used it for such, you might notice that the product does dry after application and after a time sitting.

But I've noticed that it sometimes doesn't dry 100%. I would think if you notice any oiliness left behind when you wipe panels-etc with your hands, and wish to eliminate it, a light wipe with a dampened Microfiber Towel should mostly rectify such.

For interiors plastics, I think you would be best served as has previously been mentioned, to go with and use a dedicated interior protectant.

More recently, I've been using Blackfire's Interior Cleaner, and their Multi-Purpose Protectant, and these are two very nice products indeed. Check them out. I can say without reservation that any of the PBMG House Brands designed for such should all work admirably.

(PS: Mike P might be possibly out on one of the Road Shows, thus might have only limited access at the moment)

Great reply, thank you both Belo & MarkD51. I do like a little shine as opposed to a black matt finish. However, i don't want to use a product that wipes off after a few days either. I would prefer to use something that maintains a little shine but drys to the touch and doesn't come off when you rest your arm on the arm rest or leave spots after touching a surface.

I also have Wolfgang Vinyl & Rubber Protectant & Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant though the Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant seams to leave the surface as if I used nothing in appearance.
All the best,
Mark

Something like carpro Perl could be an option maybe? It's recommended to dilute to 1:4-1:5 to the use of in the interior parts. But you can use it undiluted or 1:1 on tires. So if you like a little more shine you can dilute down from the recommended and to undiluted. And it's water based dressing so safe as it could be.

Is the WETS water based or oil based?
If oil based the long term use would maybe not be so good on the interior surfaces. One accidental application I think would not be any problem. Use your cleaner more often to wear the WETS down a little faster. It's often the carrier that is oil based. And evaporates quite fast. The rest would not be a problem. For to be safe use your strongest cleaner that's made for cleaning interiors and clean with a couple of times. If the WETS is still there it's just the protection and you wait to it to wear off.
