I have a 2008 mitsubishi evo, octane blue. My whole life I have been using entry level products from my local Canadian Tire store like 3 step meguires and mothers products. Always by hand. Clay, paint clean, polish and then wax.

Now that I'm getting a little older my back is not liking this whole doing things by hand anymore :P. So I have been collecting better product and will soon get a PC to make things easier.

My question is I purchased a bottle, large bottle at that of the Sonax Perfect Finish. I would like to get everyone's opinion on this product and whether it is too harsh for my soft paint. There are your common swirl marks, otherwise the paint is in good condition. I'm thinking about using a green LC CCS pad. I was at first thinking about using an orange pad but I'm concerned it might be too much. I guess only a spot test would determine that.

I just hope I'm going in the right direction with the Sonax. To protect I picked up some CG Pete's 53 :). I do have clay bars as well.
 
Sounds like your going in the right direction to, yeah Sonax Perfect Finish is a medium cut one step product when you find the right pad that works with your paintwork,However if you have not brought the polish yet I would suggest you buy the smaller bottle just in case you don't like you won't feel stuck/or as if you wasted money
 
i heard good things about sonax especially their Polymer NetShield.
do check up on meguiars DA microfiber system too since you getting a PC

Thanks for the input all :). I already bought the large bottle but I already have some offers locally to trade some od the polish for some other goods and if not I'll be practicing my paint correction on my own car as well as others so I might use a lot of it anyway. I just wanted to make sure I'm on the right track using this product.

I guess I could start with a less harsh pad like the LC white before going with the orange or green. If it doesn't correct enough then maybe go with the green pad.

Mizzoutiger: any reason you suggest the flat, white pad over then CCS pads?
 
For an "entry level" buffer I'd recommend Griots Garage or even the Harbor Freight as they have a bit more power over the PC.
