Horrible way to wash a car but.......

In my area dealers want to pay $1.00 per car. People that do it for a $1.00 a car can do a car in 3 minutes.

How many people are working it to do a car in 3 minutes? I'm guessing with one helper I can rinse and he can dry(or look like he is drying) at about 7-8 minutes tops per car. I'm including dragging my hose behind me to the next car and having to move my truck every 3rd or 4th car we do.

My in put here, (Im not a regular on this forum) is $40-$60/hour. Do a test run of 4 hours to let owner/manager see whatr could be done in that period of time. If they dont like it, you still get paid for your and your wifes time. What does there service department charge per hour? Go with 1/3 to 1/2 of their hourly rate as a starting point. The foam cannon and Poorboys Super Slick Wash and Wax sounds like the way to go if the cars were prepped before they were set on the lot.

When I said that they do a car in 3 minutes , they just power wash with deionized water and they dry spot free.Soap is only used if nesessary on some cars . After all the cars were detailed and only need a power wash. If you were to soap, scrub, rinse, and dry cars you would need more money. Dealers wont pay more money. They get what they pay for.

I'm guessing you didn't read the thread through as the majority of the points you brought up are void in this particular situation.

The dealer has no porter service. The set rate is roughly $1.00 per car. It makes absolutely no sense to soap wash a car that does nothing more than set still in a lot (unless this particular car DOES need a REAL wash).
