Forgive me if these are old questions, but here I go.

What hoses do you like? Mine is crap, but there are so many to choose from. I have regular, decent water pressure. Any hose suggestions?

What's your favorite foam gun for a hose (not a pressure washer)?

Will any shampoo (I currently have Megs Gold Class) work in a foam gun?

Thanks for all your suggestions!

Find a hose that is hard to crimp using your hands. If it's that hard, it won't crimp on its own :xyxthumbs:

Never used a foam gun before but The Foamaster seems to be the choice for use with garden hoses.

Any shampoo will work with a foam gun. But I know that DP makes a specific shampoo for foam guns, Xtreme Foam Shampoo.

I just picked up a reel style hose at Tractor Supply this year and seem to like it. I use a Bon-Aire firemen's nozzle with Gilmour quick disconnects which makes hooking up the hose really easy. I use a Gilmour Foamaster for foaming with Just Meg's Gold Class or CAR Products Sud'Sational shampoo. Sometimes I will cut it with some APC for cleaning dirtbikes or really dirty cars.

I like the Neverkink hoses at Lowes. They are very heavy duty, and are a great value in price at $27 for 50'.

Don't buy vinyl hoses. Most garden hoses are and they are terrible. Always buy industrial and you will get a good hose that will last forever.

I would go to "parker store" if you have one near you and get the red garden hose. It is rubber, super flexible, won't kink. I use it everyday multiple times for my carpet cleaning business. I love it.

I believe lowes has the same hose. I have seen it with there bulk hoses by the brass fittings. You can cut to length and will have to put on the fitting but is easy to do.

Or you can get goodyear garden hose industrial hose and it is good stuff also

Amazon.com: GoodYear 047 1/2-Inch x 50-Foot Rubber Industrial Hose - Red: Home Improvement

I use the foammaster foam and it is great. I just wish I would have but the 1/2 gallon version instead of the quart. It can go through it pretty quick. You can just any soap you want in it. Just mix with some water so it can be easily sucked up.

DP Xtreme Foam is specially formulated for the gun.

Good Luck

Great information! Almost time to go hose shopping! Most of the hoses have been replaced by fake Christmas trees, though! :)

That hose is an air hose. :D

I have a foamaster. It works pretty well but the only issue I have is that the handle seems to stick to the point that when the handle is released, the water doesn't stop. If I let it go, it'll stop spraying water in 10-15 seconds but that's rather annoying so I end up pulling back on the handle to get it to shut off. It works, just an annoyance.

Just put a little oil on the slide mechanism. It will work like a charm after. Fixed mine.

Word thanks for the tip. The only other thing I can say is that the pin with holes in that regulates the amount of suds can get stuck easily. A pair of pliers helped a time or two but 99% of the time I can do it by hand.

Is there an advantage to having either a quart or a half-gallon foamaster?
