Sure, it was a bad deal for the kid, pitching a 28 out perfect game, everyone knowing it, and everyone wanting to changed. Some of us got a kick out the idea of having Congress reverse it. Two weeks later, no one talks much about the game.

Well, it happened.

We now have the resolution in committee, ready to move if need be. I think it's funny, and I would like to see it changed. Probably won't happen, but it's nice to see the effort.

And here's the response I got from my congressman about the resolution

I want you to know I received your message regarding H. Res. 1425, a resolution concerning Major League Baseball.
There have been just 18 perfect games in baseball since 1900, highlighting the rarity of this difficult accomplishment. Like you, I believe Armando Galarraga pitched an impressive game and was pleased that umpire Jim Joyce acknowledged he made an erroneous call. The display of sportsmanship between these two during and after the game was a great example for all of us.

As you know, Commissioner of Baseball Bud Selig decided not to overturn the call at first base and award Galarraga a perfect game. H. Res. 1425 recognizes Armando Galarraga for pitching a near-perfect game and urges the MLB to overturn the call. The resolution has been referred to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee for further consideration. I do not expect H.R. 1425 will come before the full House for a vote, but if it does, be assured I will keep your views in mind.
Just wanted to share with everyone tonight.

I would think they had more important things to do than mettle in professional sports. b

I'm sure if it were you who got it taken away from you it would be a different story.

This is obviously more about him and baseball..

Government is getting too involved in our lives.Personally i think he should get the no hitter but we are allowing the government to make too many decisions in our lives and it's starting to spiral out of control.I know in every ones minds this will go down in baseball history as the worst call by an umpire and Galarraga will be remembered also.

How about figuring out how to clean up an oil spill, fix the economy, stop wars. Then maybe they can diddle with trivial issues. Stop wasting my tax dollars on frivolity!

I guess that's what i was trying to say:awesome::awesome:

:iagree: Do the job the FEDERAL goverment is assigned to do in the United STATES of america. Or I've got another idea! Lets just have them spend thousands of hours and millions of tax payer dollars investigating all kind of stuff that there is already legal institutions in place to handle. Wait! I know! Lets appoint another Czar!!!

I think we need a Czar of Czars! Oh, wait.... we already have one :)

I don't really have any trust or faith in our gov. so I guess that's why it wasn't a surprised this happened..

Thats awesome, I hope the call gets overturned and the perfect game is given to Galarraga. Its great to see a baseball fan in office. Galarraga deserves the perfect game, he threw one and should be #19 on the list.

First of all, I'm not a huge baseball fan, but I live in Michigan and follow the Tigers. I guess they'd be my favorite baseball team if you really got down to it. I don't think Congress has any business meddling in this or the steroid scandal for that matter. I think they need to fire Bud Selig and replace him with a Roger Goodell type of Commisioner. There's no gray area with him. Selig could have done the right thing but for whatever reason he chose not to. The whole steroid scandal wouldn't have happened with Goodell at the helm. I'm pretty sure that Congress has more important things to deal with than this, yet they think otherwise.:dunno:
