How are these prices / detailing services?

I'm having trouble deciding what would be the best to do for each detailing service, here's what I have so far.
My biggest issue is deciding what to put in the more advanced detail services. I feel like I'm not changing enough for the added price?

Stage 1 detail:
  • Tires dressed and cleaned
  • Wheels cleaned
  • Car washed and dried (2bucket, foam gun)
  • Clayed (if necessary)
  • glass cleaned
  • glass sealed
  • Hand-applied light wax
  • Glaze
  • Polished Metal
I'd charge: 110?
Supplies total: $176 (will cover 3-4 cars)

Stage 2 detail:
  • Tires dressed and cleaned
  • Wheels cleaned

  • glass cleaned
  • glass sealed
  • Light swirl removal
  • Machine Polish
  • Hand-applied paste wax
  • Glaze
  • Polished Metal

I'd charge: 150?
Supplies total: $276 (will do for 4-5 cars)

Stage 3 detail:

  • Wheels cleaned

  • Clayed (if necessary)
  • glass cleaned
  • glass sealed
  • Severe swirl removal
  • Light swirl removal
  • ]Machine Polish
  • Machine-applied sealant
  • Glaze
  • Polished Metal

I'd charge: 200?
Supplies total: $250 (covers 4-5 cars)

Paint correction : 50/hour
 
Depending on your area, expierence and how you market yourself, yea I would say that sounds about right :)

car shampoo gallon - 30
detail spray - 12
clay - 26
glass cleaner - 9
glass sealant - 19
buttery wax - 19
brilliant glaze - 25
metal polish - 11

total is 203 dollars for stage 1 detailing supplies, but a lot of it will last for multiple cars.
All of its from Adams.

First, Adams products are a quality product and I use a few of them myself, however, they are expensive compared to other manufactures.

Second, you can get the equivalent quality of products, and in many cases better, right here on AG. Keep your prices the same and put the extra profits in your pocket.

Indeed. The detail spray is very expensive as a clay lube. You can use something like ONR as a clay lube. There are a lot of better more cost effective options for apc's, soaps, etc. I would save the money for the beauty stuff (glazes, waxes, etc) for your favorite brands (Adam's or whatever).
 
I think listing the cost of the supplies is irrelevant and a little misleading if this is something the customer will see. As you said those bottles will do multiple cars and if they are good and used sparingly your probably spending less than $5.00 per car in product . The way you have it listed, if i were a customer, it would make me think your spending over $200 in product on my car alone. If you stated that to justify your prices i don't think its needed. let your knowledge, professionalism, and your work justify your price.

Im not familiar with that product line but from other comments it seems good. i've been told that one way to set yourself apart is to use products not readily available to your clients ie over the counter. so if your asked what products you use the client doesn't feel well they can go down to the local auto parts store and get the same results.(why pay you) So if thats what you've done then when asked, they will see that your a professional using superior products to get superior results.:dblthumb2:
 
sorry just reread the your question ignore what i said before just remember although the products are expensive you want to look at it per car. as i said we don't spend that much in product per car as an industry. so depending on how much you've purchased it shouldn't take to many cars to pay for the supplies.

you should get a good bit more then 3-4 cars out of the Wash, wax, glass cleaner, metal polish, tire and trim and glaze.
 
on this site here is what you can get. one gallon of PB waterless wipe for $39.99, which in my opinion and others is the best QD because you can use it on the paint, wheels, rims, glass and even headlights which should last you 20 details. it doesnt remove wax but doesnt add any ethier.
 
You need to visit your local car wash and buy your supplies in 5 and 1 gallon. This will keep your cost to $2 per car. I wash 50 car a week and my cost per car wash is $1.50. Auto magic and car brite are the 2 large car supplier in every area. Their product are very good. Pick their wash n wax soap, preimer tire dressing, n more.
 
i think i read that the average cost to detail a car,in supplies was 15.oo,but that may be low,since products go up.
