How are you guys doing in FL after the storm?

They took a pretty good punch to the gut up in the Big Bend and eastern Panhandle. I'm in Tampa Bay and we got some pretty impressive gusts and winds Thursday night after about 10:30 but being on the edge of it we got nudged and brushed by it. Several areas of flooding here and friends over in St Pete still have no electric power. We never lost power and consider ourselves lucky.

Life at sea level in the "tropics"! When the weather decides to spool up a whole s******* of ocean water and then dump it or surge it onto land it doesn't have anywhere to go at sea level for a while. Again, we got lucky in Tampa Bay and points south but i feel terrible for those folks up in the Big Bend area of the state. And she's not done yet.

We actually have some sunshine now and i finally got to my wife's brake job today.

Thinking about all of you Florida/Georgia/Carolina/Virginia guys.

The storm is about to impact us out here on the end of Long Island, NY. But not supposed to be as bad as you guys got it.

Hope you guys are well.

I am in Tallahassee the storm came ashore south of us. We were hit by the left side of the storm – the weaker side, the right side is always stronger. I lost power at 8:30 Thursday night. Power came back for me on about 130 pm The next day. I am better off than most. Most of Tallahassee does not have power. Churches were canceled today. All restaurants are close still only grocery store and home-improvement stores are open I know of at least one retirement Center that does not have electricity it's like an oven in the multi story building. Even though I got electricity back Friday I just got phone and Internet back today. If we have to have it if we have to have A hurricane I guess Labor Day weekend was the perfect time. Hopefully power who will be restored to school tomorrow and the city will be almost back to normal by Tuesday I am sure there will people who will go many more days without electricity

I'm happy to hear that was the worst of it for you, Zal.

My area of Tampa wasn't hit too hard (closer to temple terrace over by USF) I know a south tampa had some pretty decent flooding, but from what I have seen it hasn't been beyond the usual. A few missing roofs/ buildings damaged and a bit of flooding. I think the power has been restored for those who were out. This is just my experience, may have been worse for others.

I got a TON of rain. I fertilized my yard and wished I had put some fertilizer on my palm trees.
