Once upon a time, Jimmy Johnson said these iconic words: "....how 'bout them Cowboys!"

For as long as I can remember, the Dallas Cowboys were not just "America's Team", they were "My" team. And I followed all of their games religiously.

I was a fan back in the days of Staubach, Dorset, Pierson, The "Manster" and "Too Tall".

I was a fan even during the lean years between Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson.

I was a fan during that dismal 1-15 year.

I am still a fan despite the 27-7 drubbing at the hands of the Seahawks. After all, the '12 season is only two games old.

But just because I am a true fan, does not mean that I will not have my questions and opinions. But unlike the media (and most of the 'fans' here in the DFW area) I will not crucify "my" team for an embarrassing loss.

I am, and always shall be, a Cowboys fan.

Yeah, how 'bout them Cowboys!

I feel your pain, I'm a Jet fan through and through

I moved to the Dallas area in 1975 and the Cowboys were tops back then and for many years after. I became a huge fan. Then the series of disappointments started. No team in history that I have followed has disappointed me more and caused me such frustration, regardless of the sport (except maybe the Sabres).

I did not like how Jerry Jones ran the team and the team itself lost its aura and inspiration. Despite some good years, it has never fully recovered and is no longer able to be called "America's Team". Although I still follow them as to whether they win or loose and of course I always hope they do well, I do not sit glued to the tv every time they play to cheer them on.

I am only a fair weather fan. When they win and go to the Super Bowl I am with them 100% but when they loose I keep my distance. I guess I have not been a "true fan" of the Cowboys for many years.

-Since getting married in 1991, my Daughter and "him" :D
(a Longhorn native son)
... have been living in Euless.

-These events, coupled with the Texas heat, is the only rational
I can 'come to grips with' to explain her:
Traitorism...shown towards the beloved Browns.
(and The OSU...gasp, gimme some air!!)

-I really would like to see her and the grandchildren again... someday…

:)

You wanna talk about being a true fan to your team. I gotcha all beat. I AM A CUBS FAN. And we all know how hard that has been over the last 100+ years. Lol

I don't care much for NFL, I watch more college ball, but anyway, it doesn't matter to me who wins, as long as the Cowboys lose.

The Seahawks handed it to them...Go Hawks!

At least Tebow found a home. Don't know if it'll be permanent, though. Great to see him being integrated into the offense.

Hey, at least you're honest. I respect that.

How about them 2-0 Eagles!!

Sent from space through a satellite

NFC East is suddenly competitive again. Vick, Manning and RGIII are doing a great job thus far. Vick is taking a horrific beating, however. Not sure if he's going to last through the entire season.

Go DOLPHINS!!!!!:dblthumb2::iagree:

GO LAKERS! No, wait. Wrong sport. GO DODGERS!

LMFAO!

The Seahawks handed it to them...Go Hawks!

Yep, you got that part right. Let's hope:
1. Seahawks can continue that success.
2. Da Boyz can rebound.

Hey, I know it sounds weird for a Cowboys fan, but I'm also following the progress of the Niners, Colts and Broncos. And thus far this season, many of the rookies have been turning in respectable numbers. Looks like this season may end up being called "The Year of the Rookies", or the "Class of "2012". But that's just my opinion.

Happy Detailing, everyone!

"Cry me a River".....Go Chargers!

Rivers had a lousy '11 season. Looks like he's turning things around, though.

My wife inspires me to be more of a true football fan by closely following the progress of ALL teams, and not just Da Boyz.

Guess it's about time I grew up, right? LOL

I'm a huge Cowboys fan living in Seattle. A friend and I spent $550 on some nice tickets for the game this past weekend. Total disappointment. The team gave up at halftime.

I personally think Garrett is not the right coach. Yes, there are a couple areas of the team that could be improved, namely the O-line, but Garrett does not seem to be able to push the right buttons to get this team motivated (ie, waste of space Dez Bryant).

Where about in seatown r u at? I'm in the Tacoma area

E-A-G-L-E-S... EAGLES!

The Cowboys do really well against teams with average cornerbacks. Romo can usually pick these teams apart. Seattle is pretty loaded in the secondary and you saw the result. The Cowboys O-Line is also just so-so, inviting Romo to make some off-balance, cross body throws that either make him look like a hero or a zero.

Vick isn't going to make it all year. Our O-Line is like an infirmary right now :(
