I would like some suggestions on how to remove this stuff. Its yellow and kind of hard and very stuck. Both on the paint and the plastic star shield.

So far I've tried goo gone, IPA, mineral spirits, Rain-x bug and tar remover. And finally a quick attempt to remove using Meg clar bar.

None of which worked. Using the finger nail won't even begin to budge the stuff.

I would appreciate some expert help and advice with this.

Thanks
Ken

Scott,

Yes i guess it could be sap of some form. Kind of stange that its on the lower part of the car.

Any tips on removal?
Thanks

Using a hair dryer, heat the area nice and warm. If you have a plastic razor blade try lifting it then wash the area again with mineral spirits or enamel reducer....

:whs: I've used QD and plastic scrape right razor blades to remove sap like that. My fiancee' used to park under trees...drove me nuts!

Thanks booby and everyone who posted. I'll give the heat and plastic blade a go. I'll try it on a spot that'ts not easily seen.

You guys rock!

Sounds like someone should do a chemical analysis of that stuff/sap and then formulate a really tough paint sealant around it! (joking.... I think) ;)

Good news. I was able to heat it up and flake it off with my nail. I need to pick up some plastic blades. It took quite a bit to get the stuff to budge.

Thanks
