I've been taught by a "pro" aka on the job training, self taught when needed and have also watched thousands of Youtube videos and read thousands of forum posts and how to articles.

I've been following your thread since you joined, it's not the normal type of thread for example asking and learning about detailing but it's more as though you joined to do research.

Care to share with all of us what the purpose of your research is for?

Hi Mike, this is Robert Keppel in Portland, OR. We've spoken on the phone. I believe you lived in this area for a while.

I'm doing research for my blog.

Didn't want to start posting lots of links with my new account, as I know moderators are sensitive about this, but I hope these are useful to this section of your message board. :xyxthumbs:

How did I learn? A lot of 2, 3, and 4.

And I should add that I learned A LOT from some talented employees over the years. Working in high volume shops, boutique outfits, car washes, and body shops...everyone brought some fresh ideas and little tricks of the trade to my shop.
