I have a bunch of dirty LC pads after my last detail. Usually I will just let them rest in some water and ring them out and they clean up nice. This time around they are VERY soiled, and have some caked on wax on the edges.

I was wondering if I should boil these in some vinegary water like I would some badly soiled microfiber, or is there another process I should use?

I spray used pads with Megs APC at 1:10 concentration and let sit until I am completed polishing. Then rinse under running water, squeeze to release water, then wrap tightly in a clean towel to absorb more water. Stand on edge to dry.

honestly if it's dried on compound I'll just soak it in APC, let it sit and then hit it with my pressure washer. Then I'll just run it through the sink to get any left over APC out. Don't get it close enough to rip the pad apart, but this is the best way I've come up with. I deal with a shop that shares pads, sometimes these guys will just totally destroy these pads using multiple chemicals / carnuba waxes on the wrong pads and then don't even attempt to clean them, so I have to improvise to keep them fresh.

Chemical Guys pad cleaner. If that doesnt get it i add in some spray nine and let soak, then rinse throughly, towel roll to dry and let air dry to finish.
