How do I remove a clear bra?

Have you ever used a steam machine to heat it and get the film off?

I was just gonna say this. You don't want to heat it up too quickly. Also, try using alcohol in a spray bottle diluted 50/50. Spray it in the crease where you are pulling the bra away...it will help release the adhesive as you go.

On most ppf's a solution that strong can severely soften the film! (I can send you photos of my hand print on film that had IPA spilled on it!!!!!!!!)

Steam is by far the easiest way to remove it. You can get the heat you need, but also loosen the adhesive. Also don't pull the film backwards, it'll tend to leave the adhesive on the paint. Pull it up at a 90° angle. (All these instructions came from arguably one of the best, if not THE best guy(s) in Atlanta for the last 9 years. Not a guy that has a side business of tint and film while he's detailing, but his ONLY business is film.)

Other than that, the adhesive is still the biggest obstacle.

I'm facing the same problem on my RV and am ready to take the film off. But, the wife

ask if the mildew would hurt the paint; is the cracked clear bra and mildew is better

than nothing; and what are the odds of having to get a new paint job or just a new

clear coat (not a bra) to protect the now bare finish? Haven't seen this brought up so I

thought I would ask.

I am sorry to bring back an old thread but I have the same adhesive issue on my car now. I removed the clear bra and started a thread asking how to remove the adhesive. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello all,

I read this thread about 2 hours ago. I have the 3M clear bra on my 2004 BMW and it has to go. I used the "heat gun" method by only warming the area to soften the adhesive. The bra came off pretty easy.

You have to pull very slowly and I used the 50/50 alcohol/water solution. A bit of the adhesive is left.

I started to clean it off with the solution which worked a little. Got tired of that and came in for the night, logged onto Autogeeks and ordered 3M Adhesive Remover and TarX.

I skimmed through it after i posted the other thread. What can I say I am lazy lol. I will re-read

I am more curious though about WD40 suggestions and if it really is safe for the paint
