how do I remove Rain-X residue on windshield?

What I use to clean the windshield is Bon Ami to get it really clean,it's non abrasive, I'm sure it will get it off. I just pick up Duragloss rain repel,BOGO, I like it so far much easier than Rain X.

Bon Ami DOES contain abrasives.

The "Haven't scratched yet" claim does not apply to automotive paint.

That being said; you could use it to clean you windshield if you are completely out of automotive dedicated polishes.

I do not know where Bon Ami falls on the Polish Aggressiveness Chart. Now that Helme is gone....we may never know.

Been using RainX for years and never noticed any residue after it lost it's effectiveness. The big trick during application is to use a few drops of water on a fresh MF towel when wiping it off.

I got the tip on Bon Ammi years ago,it was a car show,it has always got the windows super clean and smooth. I wet the windows, sprinkle some on,and go to town on it usually with just a kitchen sponge. Do a small test spot and see,if not give it to the wife and have her go at the pots! LOL let us know what happens

Bon Ami DOES contain abrasives.

I do not know where Bon Ami falls on the Polish Aggressiveness Chart.
•Bon Ami has several abrasives...
-Feldspar has a hardness of 6 on the MOHs Hardness Scale. It is considered "gentle", when compared to many other abrasives.
(But not these other two Bon Ami abrasives)
-Calcium carbonate: Hardness of 3.
-Soda: Hardness of 2.5

•In comparison:
-Meguiar's M105 uses aluminum oxide for abrasives.
-It has a hardness of 9 on the MOHs Hardness Scale.

•Of course there are other factors that can determine the aggressiveness of abrasives. Such as:
-Size, shape, and density/specific gravity among others.

Take a look at the products next to the Bon Ami on the shelf at the grocery store...it will give you a good indication of what these type if products were designed to do.

This product should be your "stuck on a desert island" option. Please stick with product that has proven its effectiveness and safety on automotive finishes.

Of course all IMPO
