I got what looks like paint on the car that was kicked up from the tires. How do I get it off the wheel wells and the body?
 
I think its been there for some time...dont think clay will work...bug remover...maybe...should I just compound it off?
 
i used some xmt 4 to get paint off of my friend's mirror, so i guess you could give it a shot (not on the wheel well)
 
I wonder how a degreaser would handle it? Well you could compound but wouldn't it scratch it up really bad? I guess you could compund it and then work your way back to a glosy finish. I was thinking use chemicals, not strong enough to reck the clear coat or the paint but strong enough to remove it...that's why I was thinking a degreaser? Well just a thought.

I'm interested to see what other feed back comes from other memebers here.
 
Stop. Don't try to compound it off just yet. Let me look through my products, i forgot the name of it, but I will take a look tomorrow, and post back.

EDIT: Nica: I doubt that a degreaser would handle it. I was thinking something with high solvent content. I would try WD 40 or the product that slips my mind
 
sneek - looking forward to the product buddy. I wonder how WD 40 would work? I tried WD 40 on tar but it didn't really work to well..mmm..interesting.

I had yellow paint from the roadwork on my black plastic wells. I took some 303 Aerospace and after I was able to pick them off with my fingernail.
 
MPPC. You know that i have been spending too many hours studying when I of all people forget a Meg's product.

In the pic I used some DC1 to remove dried on spray paint that had sat there for a couple of years. MPPC is more aggressive. If you try it, use a terry cloth of a MF. Make sure that it has a nice nap to it.

gosh, how old is that rain dance? haven't seen that in forever! think it was something my mom used on her car when i was a kid! yikes - where did you pick that up? just curious - i don't want it.....:)
