How do mobile detailers get shade?

Would 12x12 be okay? A 10x20 might seem like a long time to set up.

Most will take 2 people to set up. Also watch for slant leg or straight leg canopies. 10x10 slant only provides 64sq ft of shade while straight will give you 100sq ft of shade.

Mostly the problem is the sun position itself as the shadow isnt directly under the canopy.

I've used multiple 10x10 and 12x12 ones at work (not for detailing). We had to set them up and tear down every day. Honestly none of them lasted very long with that schedule. The cheap ones would last a month and the decent ones a couple months, but after that they were on their last leg YMMV.

But they did their job of providing shade and shelter, so ....

You need to make sure to tie these things down. They are like huge kites. It always makes me nervouse when using mine, i never go to lunch with the car under it thats for sure.

How big are 10X10 or 12X12 canopies once folded? Would they fit Inside a minivan or would you need to carry them on a roof rack?

I need to buy one (or 2) really soon.

They are pretty compact. Most have a fitted bag with wheels so you can pull it around.
