a friend of mine picked up a Gallardo Nera edition and it has some panels that are flat black.

he has no idea how to care for the paint and he's telling me he's seeing more blemishes by the day...

Any suggestions on cleaning and protection for this type of paint?

Thank you much

I had a guy call me yesterday with an expensive, flat black paint job on "something", I forget what...

Said he had some scratches so he rubbed Meguiar's paint cleaner over the spot and it worked! It removed the scratches. Now he has a shiny spot.

I sent him to my buddy Lenny House who says he has a way to work on flat paint systems. I don't know what his system is but Lenny is a very sharp guy.

This is the problem however with these types of paint systems or wraps. The coating, or in the case of a wrap, the material, neither lend themselves well to being abraded with the end result looking original or looking good.

:)

i've always wondered what people would do in the event of getting a deep scratch in flat paint.

keeping a flat black paint job pristine is usually kept to just washing properly from what i understand, but when it comes time to do an actual correction job. i would assume that there may be some special techniques to it

maybe in the future you can find a good system for taking care of flat paint jobs and lend us all some extra tips mike? that is probably the one thing that has kept me from having a flat paint job, is the maintenance has sounded difficult at best

Until I personally heard differently from Automobili Lamborghini SpA regarding
this vehicle's two-tone black exterior paint-treatments...

-I'd go with either Swissvax's or Nanolex's matte-products.

How much matte black surface-area are you talking about?
Not such a minor detail, in and of itself...

BUT:

How about the proper products for maintaining its:
-(no doubt) black-finished wheels?
-It's special leather cabin-appointments?
-Does it have the "glass" engine cover?

Seems with this particular "Raging Bull"...
-Lots of "special-treatment" is needed for a "special-car"!
-Charge accordingly!!
