Radio? Social Media? What are some ways to get your company's name out there?

:whs: Word of mouth is the best advertising. I have my biz name and number in the back window of my truck plus its on my mobile trailer. I have a website so people can go look at my prices after asking how much to detail my car and i have a FB biz page with before and after pics. 2 years so far and no paid advertising. Pour your heart and soul into it and your clients will give you referrals. Stay connected to Autogeek :xyxthumbs:

I do know what works for sure, cause I did it twice.Go to your local news paper publishing dept and pay to have a sticker of your services stuck on every news paper sold on the front page.it will set you back 650.00.

Only one day for 650.00 I did Sunday paper only.

I had my friend create me a basic, albeit crappy website but got it on the top of the first page of google for my local area, was the best $40 I have ever spent. Phone rings like crazy some days and I never have a day that I don't get at least 4 calls. I've heard it before, if you're not in google you don't exist, and I believe it.

Interesting. How did you get on top of the Google search page? I am in the process of doing SEO for my website and it's pretty complicated so far. The best tool seems to be Google Keyword Planner but you need to have an active Google Adword campaing to use it. Since I am not opened for business for about an other month I am forced to wait.

Would really like your insight on doing this, any tip would help.

Vistaprint sells cheap business cards and can make your own design, but again word of mouth and social media. Since social media seems to be the only way people communicate and forgot how to talk in person. ;)

Marketing is still basic..... identify your target market--those folks most likely to need (and pay for) your special services.
Do what best reaches those customers with your message.
Your message should solve their pain with your services. ("Keep your car looking its best, and maintain its highest value, with our expert, worry-free, constant care....blah blah")
It's like using a rifle to target specific, potentially profitable customers, or a shotgun to scatter the word and hope it hits the right people.
If you are in a market saturated with competition, identify what makes you unique and different. Remember to always speak in "benefits to your customer." It ain't about you so much as how the customer can solve his need (pain).

Social media
Search engine optimization... you can't search for anything detailing in my region without me popping up as the top result.
Be personalized... people are paying for you as a detailer, not just your business. Let people see your face, hear your story. It goes much further than you think.
Google adwords of you are starting out and don't come up on generic search rankings
Send follow up letters, periodic inquiries via snail mail to your past clients. Don't pester them, just remind them you exist.
