My wife refuses to understand the importance of weekly/by weekly maintenance wash of a ceramic coated vehicle. Every single time it is struggle to explain that i need to spend 1.5hr to wash her car. Funny, she loves clean car but doesn’t appreciate the effort it takes to keep her clean...men, single life at times is something really miss. Rant over

Try a Waterless wash or rinsleless wash bi weekly instead. It will save both of you time and then just do maintenance wash 1-2 times a month.

I’ve tried but it really takes about the same 1-1.5hr. I can’t really do it any faster. Even then it is not being approved/appreciated

Tell her you could just as easily spend the time at a bar/strip club instead of at home keeping her car looking top-notch.

See which side of the coin she prefers then..........
 
She’s right. Spending 1.5 hrs per week on your car that you supposedly protected to the Nth degree is ridiculous. Careful what you wish for on the single thing...

Not even mine, hers. And most of the time it is every other week. Regardless, it is just funny how different we all are

My wife doesn’t care if her car is dirty or not. Some people have different priorities. “What, another box of detailing supplies!”

•Once a Coating starts being exposed
to environmental factors—natural and
man-made—it ever so slightly: slowly
begins to wear away.

-It’s hard to notice this wearing away on
a daily basis; but over time abrasion does
take its toll.


•With that in mind:
-I am quite dispirited with how much
additional abrasion you are inflicting
upon the Coating—in short order—by
employing such an ambitious washing
schedule/regimen.

aptly describes: I, too, am struggling
for an understanding. Perhaps not an
epiphany, per se. But how about, at

I don’t think that washing the car once every two weeks is an ambitious schedule. I pushed it further a couple of times and it was not a pleasant experience getting all of the dirt off of the paint. Surprisingly, after 9 month the car is still scratch/swirl free and CQ original still going strong. I’m using top notch products along with my technique being quite perfected over these “countless” washes. Car is being garage kept so i expect the coating to go at lest another year. I’ll be installing gliss once texas heat slows down and i’m able to spend more than 5 minutes in my garage again. Cheers

So how often do you wash your vehicle? Considering once a week or every 2 weeks is "too ambitious" for you! With all this abrasion you are speaking of, did I miss a part where the OP was washing with sandpaper or something extremely harsh?

Agreed. Just a word salad.
 
I can bucket wash or even rinseless wash my car from dirty to spotless like newly coated in 1hr flat. Work on the process at your house and find a way to make it 1hr. She should be fine with it. Personally, I do one car right after mowing the yard so that it's blended together time-wise and I'm already hot and in need of a shower. Another good time is when she is out and away for a bit. When home, I team it up with a simple date-night after I'm showered and done, thus 4-5pm she feeds the kids, I'm washing the car and we're on a date by 5:30-6pm. Play your cards right the rest of the night and she might just look forward to you washing the car ;)

To me “Biweekly” means twice a week.
(I don’t care what it means to you.)

The OP, therefore, has positioned himself
for more opportunities to abrade the Coating.
Not a “best practice”, IMO.
