how do you wash in the sun? for all you mobile detailers

since you're mobile, washing in the sun is inevitable. i did it yesterday on my black car and let the soap dry before i rinsed (bad idea) and it left a lot of water spots, even though i dried and used spray wax. i got them out with a microfiber but it was a pain.

what could i do to minimize this? rinse a panel as soon as im done washing it and dry it right away?

also, if i do get water spots, whats a quick way to remove them? yesterday i had to rub and rub with a microfiber, will it be quicker if i use quick detailer? i use ONR at 1:64 as a clay lube/quick detailer.

I will basically wash and dry a panel at a time almost like you would do with a rinseless wash. I am just careful not to wet clean areas. If I do, I redry them after I finish the current panel.

When I have to work in the sun (which I try not to usually bring a pop up canopy to give me some shade). I will typically always use an ONR type wash. It enables me to ensure no water spots. But that being said I have done traditional washes in the sun and I ensure that I keep the car wet. Do a section at a time, rinse, and wet the car. Then move onto my next section. Then I'll use some ONR diluted to quick detailer to help dry. That usually removes any water spots that may have formed.

I plan on getting a cr spotless filter. And BAM no water spots!! problem solved. It's kinds pricy but oh well figure it will be worth the hassle to try and not get water spots

I use that method as well at times. I guess its close to half and half for me. I do always try to use a oh balanced shampoo.
