So I have XMT #3 & #1, but I hate how much it dusts. I like the 5.5" low profile orange pads for swirl removing and the 5.5" white pads for final polishing before wax.

From what I've read, Optimum does require longer working time but has zero dusting - that is very appealing to me. You think I'm okay with using Optimum Compound and finishing with XMT 360? I like the AIO-properties of 360 and have been wanting to try it.

Plus I don't think I want to use DG105 on the Goat - I'd rather polish/wax more frequently to keep her pretty :)

Thanks all

I think it would be fine but what about Optimum Poli-Seal. I use it and it works great.

Good question - what about it? I've just heard so much raving about XMT 360 I figured it was the way to go.

Thoughts everyone?

First off, what is the paint condition like? Still minor swirls? If so, Id go with Menzerna 106FF with orange pad, then top with your wax. The 106 has VERY minor dusting.

I dont really like AIO's because they tend to hide rather then remove imperfections.

Yeah the GTO has minor swirls, not bad at all.

Menzerna 106 is pretty pricey-will it take out more moderate swirls too? The price tag is a tad high for my taste...

Instead of using two products to get results, just use 106ff and then lsp. This way you are taking the swirls out instead of hiding them and you will get much better results.

It depends a lot on the color, clear coat, and machine being used. I might be able to remove something using 106 with the rotary and white CCS pad, which takes two passes with the PC and orange pad.

But yes, it can remove moderate swirls too. Using a PC it might take a couple passes. But in the end, the results will be far better then using XMT 360.

106 is only $0.31 more expensive @ price per ounce then 360.

Thanks all - I noticed after I replied to D&D that the 106FF came in a 32oz bottle, so definitely a good value overall.

It is in my shopping cart and I'll let you all know how it handles the Goat. Thanks!

Having tried XMT and Optimum I have this to say, XMT does dust but it cleans up (the pad) really easy. Optimum doesn't dust but cleaning the pad (especially after Poliseal) is a be-otch gummy mess. I ditched them both for Malco products.

Thanks Junebug, I ended up going with Menz PowerGloss compound & 106FF nano polish.

Where is your medium grade polish such as SIP or IP?

Why do I need a medium grade polish? I figured given PG is supposed to finish to a near gloss and with 106FF's reasonable amount of cut, I wouldn't need one...

Me? I use Malco Perfex and a yellow wool pad as my go to compound (on rotary), it even finishes down LSP ready if you use a LC foam pad. For Polish I use Malco Nano Polishing Cream on a white LC pad via my PC.

Looks good man! 105 topped with a nuba is dead sexy. 105 can only add to the hotness :D

Start with the least aggressive combo and move up. Going from 106 to PG is a HUGE leap. 106 has very light correction abilities.
