How far will the 2oz samples of the WG "Twins" get me?

I'd love to try out the WG TSR/FG combo this spring, but am unsure how far those tiny 2oz sample bottles will get me.

While reading the sticky on the twins from Mike in this section, I understood him to say it takes about 8oz to do a mid-sized sedan? Is that true? If I'll burn through 8oz bottles on each car, I'll need to look at more economical choices.

From past experience I used about 2~2.5oz from a 4oz bottle of Black Hole to do my small-ish hatch back. The stuff is so thick it's hard to tell how much is left. I've also done a SUV and a mid-sized wagon (maybe twice) with a 16oz bottle of Meg's UP and have about 1/2 left.

Are these 2oz samples enough to give you one shot at a car, or are they mdesigned to give you enough for a test spot?

I highly doubt those lil 2oz bottles will be enough for a car...

There is no way the compound/polish abrasive samples are designed to do an entire car.

It should be more than sufficient to prime you pad and do a large enough section to determine if you enjoy using the product and if it delivers the results you expect.

:iagree:

the cutting step wont get you very far at all. probably 1/3rd of the car , if that...

For polishing you ...might get 2/3rds of the car.

Which is why with my last order I *tried* (unsuccessfully I might add) to get TWO samples of WG Uber. And that order included the Rupes Deluxe Duetto Kit plus more Rupes foam pads, Rupes MF pads, Menzerna FG400 (which is WHY I wanted the WG Uber, to compare the two) and some other stuff I'm not thinking of right now.

I was *told* that the 2oz bottle would be enough to do a vehicle. :dunno:

I do know that the whole Rupes like of thinking is that you don't even prime the (foam) pads, just three little dabs and that's it.

Yet if you look at how the do the Microfiber pads, (in the AG Videos) they'll wet those suckers darned near SLOPPY!

I'm with you.

However, I do have a 'sample kit' I'm waiting to use on some special work.

It consists of 2oz Uber, 2oz Pinnacle Adv. finishing polish and 2oz Souveran Liquid.

I believe that, if the car is not that big, in favorable conditions (not very 'hammered) and being 'extra cautious', I will achieve an entire car with the kit, and I'm counting to have left at least Adv. Polish and Souveran at the end.

For the 2oz Liquid Souveran I've already waxed 3-4 cars with it and I have more than half (~1.1oz).

Otherwise, next time I'm to use Uber I'll get the 2oz bottle and see how far I can go with it.

Interesting question,

Kind Regards.

That is correct, the Rupes microfiber pads must be full primed. The pads only require 3 dime-size drops.

That's going to take some getting used to.
Got the Duetto deluxe package coming for my wife next week. :D

You only need to fully prime them once, then do just like pads. I love my Duetto I'm sure you will too :dblthumb2:

Mark, are you on AT&T cellular?

If so, I'd like to give you a call tomorrow.

Have some Rupes questions. Signed that black Camry Hybrid today, thank goodness it turned out to be Attitude Black Metallic. The owner didn't even know!

Curious about Rupes pads and that paint. Then again, Car-Momma would be more comfortable with the pads she already knows. Surely they'll work on the Duetto. ;)

He brought it by today for an inspection and once we talked for a while he understood why there are $200 details (which is what he already was quoted locally) and why there are $650 details. (And I'm not doing the interior.) :dblthumb2: Said he would NEVER go to one of those other guys again. (Plenty of evidence of that on the car already, and it only has a couple thousand miles on it.) Although it came from good ol' "Chicagoland" if that tells ya' anything about how trashed the paint is!?!?!?!?!?!!!! He got the free DISO AND Hologram options, he's a lucky guy indeed.

I'm keeping up with the forum mostly with my phone, you can email me that'd work too. Just whatever works for you brother.

Yes ATT is my carrier. Call me anytime. I have a Benz I have to get out the door Saturday but we can chat.

Is a 8oz bottle enough for a compact car? And how much pads would I need for an entire car?
