How hard is collintie 915 to remove?

Okay I think i am completely messing something up here.

Today I decided to try Col915 on my friends envoy and absolutely could not get it off the paint. I Did a single panel and tried a swipe test... still wet at the start of th epanel so I figured do a 2nd panel then remove and keep the sequence going... Well soon after a passable swipe test my attempts to remove the 915 were laughed at by the wax!!! I started int eh middle... Twisted to break through then kept buffing and trying ot take "chucks" out of the surrounding wax... I had to break out the PC with MF bonnet to get 96% of it off and I still think there is some residual on there I am going back over tomorrow to look.

Maybe it was to wet still? the wax was left on there in lines "mimmicing scratches" in the direction of application. Even aget returning multiple times it was very hard to buff off.

Now either I am way to spoiled by Max wax, and natty's, and all the super easy sealents I have or I am doing something massively wrong

The only thing I will say is go thinner. So thin you almost are not using any.:props:
 
It sounds like you used too much. I have never had a problem removing 915, and in most cases find it is down right easy to use. I would try reducing the amount you apply since you may have become used to applying more product with Natty's and Maxwax just because they are easier to spread and remove.
 
Guess I'll try using the PC to get it thinner... and start with something ez like the flat hood
 
The Collinite Marque D'Elegance Carnauba Paste Wax #915 should be applied very thin to one section at a time using the WOWO method "Wipe On Wipe Off".
 
Ahhh so I should not have waited for the swipe test either... just take it back off as soon as I get the panel covered... thanks

I thought the tin says to allow a thin layer to haze before removal? I always apply it very thinly and allow it to haze for about 15-20 minutes and it normally buffs off very easily.

The Collinite #915

Directions on the can says -
1. Apply wax with a clean, soft, damp cloth or sponge to a section at a time, and let thoroughly dry to a haze.
2. Polish lightly with another clean, dry, soft cloth to produce a brilliant luster.

No problem applying the Collinite #915 using the Wipe On Wipe Off method. The Collinite #915 is a great wax for the price.

Gotcha, I agree it has fantastic bang for the buck!
