I live in Phoenix where it cools down to about 105 by dusk. Is that too hot to DA polish in the garage? I don't know how hot is too hot for the paint before I am doing damage instead of polishing? I have a severely neglected Camry that I was going to use Menz SIP/orange pad followed by 106FA/white pad.

I think it's more a matter of humidity. Polishing out of the sun keeps the surface "cool" as 100F isn't a problem for the compound but low humidity will dry it up before it breaks down properly - may require a fine spritz of water in order to work it down. Common problem for me in Denver although this summer has been unusually humid (for us).

Waiting until early morning (just after dawn) gives the highest relative humidity of the day (unless it rains in the evening).
