How in the Heck Does a 5'7 Man REach the Middle of the Roof on a Hummer?!

Am I the only one that is nervous putting a metal ladder right next to the car? Maybe I am the only crazy one here that would bump the ladder into the car, I would have to line the sides of the ladder with some type of bumper in case I hit the car.

I tape some cheap foam pipe insulation to any edges that might cause damage. It can be cut to size and taped to hold it in place.

It is less than a dollar a piece at the home improvement stores, but I got a bunch for free as a vendor used it for packing material.

Works for me. (It also makes a nice protection sleeve for the floor jack handle)

As Randy pointed out, pipe insulation works great. I also have 2" velcro... the soft loop side... stuck on all my equipment that is used near vehicles. Might get an occasional bump but no scratches. YMMV.
