I'm just curious to see how everyones business flow has been doing?

I don't know about any of the other detailers in the Northern California area, or anywhere else for that matter, but I have definitely seen a big drop in business. I honestly don't think I have ever been this slow before.

Might have to ditch the van and start running shop out of the back of a civic :D, and think about getting a evening job.

Mine has been picking up, but it is only a sideline. Also I am the only high end detailier in my area. By high end I mean full scratch removal and boutique interior and exterior products. Most shops don't use halogens or any sort of lighting for scratch removal and just cover them up.

Mine is picking up due to getting ready for the harsh winters, I know it is a few months away but people are preparing.

If you look at the economy in general, everyone is cutting back and spending more on consumables. This will have an effect across the board including detailing.

I agree, the economy sucks. Hope our new president can turn things around and bring our boy's back from a war we should have never been in.

Must be nice, wish I had the same lack of competition in my area. More detailers both high and low end then I can count. Actually have been seeing a lot more detailers pop-up over the last year.

Don't have much of a harsh winter around here either.

Private aircraft cleaning is starting to look like a tempting market, I just don't feel that I would enjoy it as much as I do detailing cars.

there are like no mobile detailers in my area...i have seen maybe 2 people all over north texas...i just don't do as much cuz i work with a photographer and go to school

I feel business here would really pick up if I could get my name out there a little better. I've got about 5 regular customers, but they're lazy lol. I too would be the one of the only mobile/high end detailers out here in Reno. I think I've only seen one other.

Back in GA on the the other hand I've got quite a few customers. I could go there and spend 2 weeks doing nothing but detailing and still probably have more coming. This is due to a really good network of friends in my hometown there that really help me out. I usually have anywhere from 2-5 cars when I go to GA to visit.

This was actually my slowest month by far. But I have been busy most of this season. I did not do as many details, but I sold some of the products that I distribute. I sold out of rubber dressing, and Jax Dash and Vent. Just scheduled two details for Saturday. I was planning on going to Bob Mc Doormans Vette Show here in Columbus Ohio to pick up the latest hot products, but I'd rather be making some cash than spending it.

Been slower than previous years here, the economy is as bad as I've seen it in my life time everything going up in price, gas prices are hurting everything

That's why you should vote for one that's against war...And it's not a republican...

i even noticed meatballs are smaller!!!!!! theres a little deli i go to and they sell meatballs. they make all there food there and they used to be huge !! now there like marbles:mad:

I don't detail for work, but my biz is in commercial/business (commercial financing, private equity, venture etc). Still busy, however getting most of the projects done is another story as this sector relies on the capital markets/wall street etc which are in the shitter. I have one for a well known developer in NY down here that after working for 4-5 months straight structuring, and restructuring looks like we finally secured some equity and debt for it.
