How is this forum useable now?!

I haven't had the issue since my last post back in mid December. So I might change just my phone setting back to activating the dark theme at sunset, and see what happens tonight.

It doesn't seem like mods care about this forum. They need to fix the dark mode or get rid of it. This is amateur hour here...

seems to work for me

I changed my phone settings back to going to the dark theme at sunset, and AG isn't affected like it was before, so from my side they've fixed whatever was making the site go to the dark. Everything is readable and fine.

Its not fixed.

In dark mode when you move the cursor over the subject it becomes active (Mac)....not sure what it does on a smartphone

I thought I'd test it out on my laptop, as I usually go in on my phone. When I went to the site, it was in dark mode and difficult to read, as you said, so clicked the button and changed it to light mode. I then realised I wasn't actually logged in, and when I logged in, I noticed the button to change the light/dark setting had disappeared, which is strange. So Icarus, maybe try logging out to see if you can access the button for light/dark, because it may not be visible when you're logged in. Also, I use Firefox browser, so it may be different in other browsers. Hope this helps.

During the day, the forums are white. When the night mode kicks in on my phone, it turns it the same way you have pictured. Try looking at the settings on your phone.

I wonder why they have zero interest in fixing this issue and other long on going ones? Forums are dead, wonder why...

This. Just installed a new browser (FireFox), which has a true dark mode setup. Changed my AG forum to Dark theme and I can barely read any of the forum/thread titles.

Its probably such a simple fix, I wish they would make it.

FYI - Ive managed to come up with a workaround that works with FireFox (will confirm Chrome/Brave later tonight). Basically you create a CSS file that overlays on top of a given site, then target the various hyperlink styles that are set to "Color: Black" and make them "Color: White" (or whatever color you prefer) so the override makes them visible. Note: White might not be ideal because its hard-ish to tell if the thread has unreads or not, I will experiment with different colors.

There's no one steering the ship.

What kind of alchemy is that?

You stash a CSS file (userContent.css) in your browser profile folder, then add CSS definitions pointed at website domains with the same name(s) as the websites actual CSS styles. Your custom definitions then override the websites when the site is loaded into the browser.

You need to enable a setting in the browser config but its easy enough to do.

A single line takes care of most of the forum and thread titles, nav links, etc. Once I have it good to go I'll attach the file here (assuming it's allowed) and instructions on what to do.

Again, you seem to be under the impression that someone is steering the ship. Although someone does seem to be removing the spam here; over at Autopia the last remaining moderator is doing it, but he's not doing it here.

Actually I just assumed the forum s/w itself can be set to automatically disallow certain types of attachments (though I suppose I could get around that by strategic file renaming)

Oh, I see. As far as I can tell, we are a closed ecosystem here, no new members are being approved, no lost passwords being reset. It may be that there is no spam here because no new spammers can join. There is a spammer over on Autopia, but the remaining moderator no longer has the privileges to ban him, so he can only delete the spam posts as the spammer creates them.
