how lenient are you with your daily driver?

I'm pretty meticulous with our daily drivers. I love cars and to me they are a living organism. I also take pride in doing my best to keep them looking as good as the day I bought them. However, I'm also realistic enough to know that being driven daily takes it's toll.

My car I keep 80~90% inside and out all the time. The outside might get a little dusty, but that's about it. I'll wash it every couple of weeks.

My wife's car will get washed every couple of weeks and I try to keep the exterior about 80%+ too. Inside...well...I've been fighting that battle for years. She works in her car every day, so that doesn't help with keeping it clean and well maintained.

Daughter's car actually looks pretty good. Still working on her to keep up the inside, but just cleaning up after herself.

I would say 80-90%, I don't expect it to be perfect driving 62 miles a day to work. I wash/wax/seal it when it needs it, needless to say it looks better than most show cars I see around me plus it blows away the DDs, ha! :buffing:

I like to keep my paint around the 80% mark. Its constantly dirty though since I never have time to wash it. I have a full time job and I detail part time on the weekends.

I am trying to keep my car looking better than new. It is a newer car, a 2011 Ford Fiesta, but I have put 99,000 miles on it. The car looks very good, except for the hood and front end. It has so many stone chips on it, it looks very bad.

I like to keep mine as well as the wife's as clean as possible. Paint wise I'd say 85%. Interior I keep as spotless as possible. A clean interior just makes traveling better IMO.

Mine "was" fully corrected and opti-coated. There's a few swirls here and there, most likely from winter. I try to keep it clean but I'm just too busy to give it a weekly wash.

I asked the host at the Meguiar's 101.

"Would you remove the swirls on your daily driver, if it's always parked outside?"

He said "I would"

So that gave me the green light on fully correcting my car's paint.

I have opti coat just sitting there. So I might just use on my car.

My detailing has come to a halt, (besides my weekly washes) cos I am always at school. I might just spend the night at my uncles house on Friday and just use their garage Friday - Sunday and just work on my car non stop. And I'll try to accomplish as much as possible.

That and I want to get my Flex first. :)

My daily driver is a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It's one of the nicer ones on the road. 140k miles. It get used for what it was built for. I'm an avid catfisherman. It gets driven on backroads a lot. I wash it every week, polish it about once a year and seal it with power lock every 5 or 6 months, but it gets pretty dusty sometimes. Jeeps look good with a little dirt on them. The interior is starting to show a little wear, but I try to keep it spotless.

In the summer, both daily drivers get washed once a week as necessary, and/or rinseless/waterless several times a week. They stay very clean with the exception of some light dust.

In the winter, they both get a 2BM every 2 weeks, alternating one per week.

They are around 90%. Any swirls and marring from winter gets removed in the spring. They get a light polish before winter, just as a function of removing old LSP with an abrasive. I don't chase after the deeper scratches; with the yearly swirl removal, I'll get the deep stuff eventually and no sense in removing all that clear for one scratch.

My daily is a '12 F-150 Supercrew in Silver. I wash it every 2 weeks and gets full detail once a year.

Rock chips have been brought up and guess what....its a DD, what can you do, oh yeah, nothing, LOL! I really hope to have my car when it hits 100k to see how it still looks, time will tell. I know this, I'm making the commitment to win the battle of maintaining my DD so it always looks great....I-WILL-WIN!

it hurts though to see a new one... :(

Yeah, I religiously clean mine every weekend and just have to turn the other cheek when I see another mark. I still park far away from others so my doors are good but front is pretty messed up, even with a clear bra. I still polish it each year, wax it twice a year, spend 3, 4 or so hrs cleaning it. But I do bypass some things that I used to do when it was newer.
