So, lately I have felt that my rinseless washes have sped up my process pretty rapidly. I have been thinking about timing myself and today was the day. I was washing my car and just doing a rinseless maintenance wash.

I thought id use my stopwatch and do laps between steps, but forgot to lock my phone and "butt dialed" a few extra laps. Luckily the timer didn't stop.

I'm a baseball guy, and naturally love stats. It's always good to compare our times/results to others. In this example, I didn't race through it, just had a good hour to spend on the paint and went to business as usual. I had just finished a PW/foam cannon wash on my wife's jetta. Here's what I did:

3.5-4 gallons of ONR/water in a bucket with a gamma seal lid. I keep some towels in that bucket for these maintenance washes. I started the clock and grabbed the bucket from my shed, got out 3 drying towels, griots spray wax and a few cobra jr's. The towels in the bucket are some cobra jr's also. Probably a dozen or so, give or take.

The car: 2004 ford taurus daily driver style. Aka: the Guinea pig. It currently has a solid coat of NXT 2.0 on it from the middle of march. I didn't get a great shot before, but the tires were slightly dirty, rims have duragloss 105 on them, easy to clean with a rinseless wash.

Here's my time:

Literally 30 minutes.

That included a wash, dry with towels, spray wax, dry some more, and final wipe down with the cobra jr's. I also got an old "bone sponge" and used some Meg's hyper dressing on the tires. Didn't clean them, so I doubt it will last. Oh well.

All that in 30 mins, not bad. Not record time for others, but greatly improving my speed with these techniques I'm learning.

And since TTIWWOP!!!

Rained later that day!! Keep in mind I did a full 2bm with my wife's car earlier. That's the suds you see on the ground.

so, share your (real) times and lets compare stats other than just results. Sometimes it's about the journey not just the destination!
