How long does your maintenance wash take?

I think I should also mention that my car is by far the easiest vehicle I ever have to wash because it stays clean inside & out on a steady basis.. I’m super anal to the point that even my center console must remain empty and clean at all times. Plus the interior of the car is so big and wide open that vacuuming and wiping it down doesn’t get any easier.

So I'm not the only one like this!

If i drag out pressure washer. A pre foam 1 bucket multiple mott wash with wheels and drying aid 1-1.5 hours.

To save time i will do a bucket on wheels and a rinseless. 45 mins

A maintenance wash on the Accord takes 20 minutes, including the wheel faces - does not include setup time (about 10 minutes). This is a 2 bucket rinseless wash with a mitt, a damp wipe with a MF towel, a spritz of detail spray to amp up the gloss and some version of a PFM towel to spread/dry. I use the leftover wash water and a Mothers Wheel Brush to do the faces of the wheels. The paint is still swirl free 2.5 years after we bought it, and has only been washed this way.
If I deep clean the wheels and tires, then it is over an hour.

Now the time I spend outside doing 'garage therapy' is much longer, but I know if I need to, I can get it done quickly.

This is a little thing, but make sure you are not 'over cleaning' the car. For a maintained car, one wipe of the wash media should remove anything on the surface - no need to rub that section over and over. And as others have said, having a good LSP on the cars makes it much easier to wash.

Ok I timed myself..
-Cleaned the wheels. Sprayed Megs D143 & rinsed off. Dried with Metro Sidekick.
-Rinsed the entire car with the hose nozzle
-Waterless Wash w/WG Uber
-Beadmaker as a drying aid

Total time: 40min.

Now wait a damn minute.......

You just back-blew your vacuum over the back of the Caddy then rinsed it off. Those wheels were already clean in pic one...........:laughing:

JK, Ric. Nice job, bro. :)

Looks great. Thanks to your guys’ help, I was able to knock my time down to about 40 minutes yesterday. I’m going to have to look into beadmaker.

Gee, takes me over 40 mins to do just wheels. (But not my vehicles)

I had to do these yesterday. Not quite 40min. but they did require some time. And to top it off these kind of tires are most susceptible to tire sling, so you really have to be mindful about how you dress them.

I hope I never see this truck again. The sheer size is freaking ridiculous.

That would take me the whole day to detail!!!! Jeez

I washed the damn trailer too.. Trailer’s only been used like once or twice, so he wanted to return it to his buddy nice and clean. Hyper Dressing on those tires and it looked better than new.

Just curious, how long it took the truck?

Easily it would take me 4-5 hrs

TBO it took me way longer than it should’ve. 3hrs. including super vacuum of the interior and wiping all areas down with Megs APC including the leather seats & steering wheel which really needed it.

100% cleaning of the tires, wheels, & wheel wells, wash the truck & trailer, clean all windows dress all 8 tires + wells, blow dry the trucks tires + all nooks & crannies and gave the trailer a final wipedown with Megs D114.

Wow!!!
That is why even if I would want to do this for a living I wouldnt make any money, maybe is my OCD but Im too slow detailing

I don’t consider myself slow, but I do tend to get sidetracked especially with my phone + OCD doesn’t exactly help speed things up.

Then there’s times when I lose track of time and think I’ve been doing something for too long and that can result in a bit of frustration.

Totally understand, I did our 3 cars this weekend and all were maintenance washes and I even check how long takes me to prepare everything. So,
1. set up the power washer
2. align all products, towels and brushes that I will be using for the exterior on one shelf of the detailing cart, same with the interior on another shelf
3. Fill up ik foamer and foam cannon
4. Set up my wash bucket with the 5 mitts
5. Grab my worx blower and extension cord
6. Go back and find whatever I forgot (there is always something)

Easily this process is 10-15 mins per car (my OCD is so bad that I use different products on my cars depending on my rating, not all products and tools are different between the 3 but a good portion are)
