We are in our 14th year of bussiness . As I was standing in the shop looking at a 2006 Ford GT that was coated with C Quartz Finest, checking the Porsche turbo s for Monday ,after delivering the Porsche GT2 RS, I was stunned at what we have become. When we started out I think I did every Buick and Oldsmobile in Maryland for next to nothing! Trying every product on the market and just not being happy with the results, but being exhausted!
Our lives changed whe a salesman said he would introduce me to the Meguiars guy. I met a man named Rod Kraft, who told me of classes given at a local distributor . I have gone every year for 14 years! Rod and I have become very good friends since.
In 2005 I was extremely lucky that a guy from Meguiars came to my shop to do a class. He was Mike Phillips. His teaching absolutely changed everything about how we did things!
We kept plugging away and now we take care of some of the most expensive, rare and desirable cars there are! I will be going to Mclaren to do a new P1 and have a new Porsche 918 to do.
I cannot give enough thanks to Mike and Rod,who without being lucky enough to meet ,I probably would still be doing all those Buicks!

That is fantastic. You are fortunate to have met some great folks, but it is your hard work that has brought this success. Be very proud of what you've accomplished. Congrats!

Congratulations on all your success and I wish you even more success moving into the future!

I remember everything about the class we held at your shop, I think that was when I did three roadshow classes in a row ending up in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and teaching a class with Rod Kraft.

This was back in 2006 so that's over 8 years ago! Good times.

Here's an excerpt from the thread that documents the class we held at your place Mike...

Mike Lambert's The Shine Shop - Reisterstown, Maryland!

Well tomorrow's class is completely full with serious car enthusiasts from all around this area eager to learn more about detailing their cars with Meguiar's. After picking up the rental car and meeting up with Joe aka Mobilejoe, we headed over to Mike's Shine Shop to meet with Mike and do a little setting up for tomorrow's class.

Mike has converted his home garage into an effective and money making detail shop. One of the biggest problems Brick & Mortar Shop detailers have to overcome is reducing overhead. By converting his garage into his shop he's reduced his overhead and maximized his profits, plus he can work from home!

Here you can see how Mike has added 8" florescent tube lights to light-up the sides of the car so he can see what he's working on.

There's two more sets of 4 footers, (two tubes in each set), on the other side,

And both florescent lights, and halogen lamps, mounted to the ceiling.

I took a picture of a picture hanging on the wall in Mike's shop showing I think his dad from back in the day when he was detailing. Just goes to show the Passion for Perfection runs in the family!

That was also back when I wore a flat top....

Check out the Swirl Finder Light, I think this was the Blue Point version by Snap-On Tools.

If you ever get a chance to corner Rod and pick his brain about how to detail cars then go for it! Rod is a walking encyclopedia of how-to information on detailing cars!

These pictures were posted in 2006 and in this shot we're using the silver Swirl Finder Light. So back then I must have been traveling with two swirl finder lights?
