What kind of machine do you use. Don't own one but am interested. Thanks

personally a short throw DA with a 5" black soft finishing pad at speed 2 no load.. spinning pad not so critical just for application, but with zero load it does a little..

I use a machine in some cases, but for my car it's always hand applied carnauba

I just started using a machine to apply it. Don't know what the heck I was thinking before because a machine is so much faster and easier.

Faster?? By the time I tape off pinstriping and trim and wash the pad.I save a lot of time doing it by hand..

I don't try to crowd the trim. Will do that by hand. And I'm just a weekend warrior. I just really enjoy driving clean vehicles. Ordered some speed HD from autogeek on this last sell. Can't wait to try it out

Never tried it by a machine but looks like it could prove interesting results. Wish I could get my mittens on a gloss meter. I may try this two ways. 1. With my Rupes Big Foot then 2. With a 10,000 Random Orbital 3M Sander with only a 3/16 orbit or 3/32. From my 38 years in the abrasive business I do know that the smaller the orbit the finer the finish [ depth of scratch ]. That is with any grade of sandpaper. But I have never tried it with a high quality Wax. The back up pad plays another huge roll in sanding but may not with Wax polishing. Should be interesting.

Always...its much faster, more efficient and consistent. You can get better, more even coverage while typically using less product than you would by hand.

All i use is machine now...after 10 years of waxing by hand my hands cramp up sometimes

Same here.

GG 3" red ThinPro pad and good to go.

So easy and so fast, takes like 10 minutes to do whole car.

I use less wax than I used to by hand.

Wow I must be doing it wrong. I like to take my time working it in with the buffer, it take me longer using it because I work it to a nice haze. I like to do a spit shin like we did in the boots in the army. I want maximum shin and depth. I can't seem to get this by hand. I used the flex finisher the last time with a red finishing maybe crimson pad and meguiars #26 wax last two times. I found with the 6 and a half pad I needed to run at 4 to 5 to get a nice free spin with no pressure. I prime my pad with a little quick detail and then wax for the start and then a quick spray and 3 dots after. I think it must be faster for you guys because your just putting on the wax and I spend more time working it to try what I think gives me the max for shine and bonding. By hand I'm only wiping it on letting it bond and then wiping it off. Thank you all for your imput.

Thats what I do, I like to work the wax in with a polisher. Thats the right way imo. If you look at the paint under a microscope its all hills and valleys that need to be filled in. I just happened to finish putting 2 coats of synergy on my car and i took a pic

I'm still working on it. After doing the 2 coats of synergy and letting them cure I like to buff it down clean then put on a nice coat of carnauba by hand. I dont work it in as much when i do it by hand Ill get a pic later see if it looks better

Sorry I drop my phone about ten days ago and just got a new one. Thanks for your reply fightnews. I thought maybe I was out of my mind. Glad to hear someone else does the same thing.View attachment 57707

I use a machine for the main wax but I like doing a layer of Carnauba by hand every so often
