How many towels do you use a week?

I was washing my towels from a detail and was wondering how many towels everyone else uses in a week? How many of each kind do you keep on hand at one time and how long do you use and wash before you kick them to the curb?

I usually end up dropping a MF for paint ont he ground and demoting it to interior or door jam use before I ever wear them out.

Washing (1-2), Drying (1), Quick Detailer (1), Glass (1), Doorjambs (1), Trunk/Hood (1) , exhaust tips (1) = 6 or 7 on just wash days !

Depends on what your doing. A normal wash and wax/QD I probally use around 6-7. When doing a full detail there is a pile in the basket.

Cobra MF Waffle Weave 24x29 Drying Towels, the cheap ones, I have 12 of those.

DI All-Purpose Towels, for wax/polish removal, interior cleanings, door jambs, etc. I have 36 of those.

SM Arnold 16x24 MF Waffle Weave Towels for QDing, glass, and drying tight areas, 24 of those.

Walmart small MF towels for drying tires and rims, 10 of those.

Finally, 3 Meguiar's Supreme Shine Towels just for general/all-purpose use such as for drying my hands during a wash process, quick wipe-downs, whateva.

I have a couple of empty buckets I keep in the garage. I use a towel, toss it in there. Once two of the three buckets are full, I dump them all in the wash. Wash mitts and the Walmart wheel/tire towels go in one machine, everything else goes in the other machine. Once washed and dried, they go upstairs into my closet nicely folded up. When I run out of towels in the garage, I bring fresh ones (only what I feel I need) from my room down into the garage in the fresh towel bin ready to be used again!

How many cars do you do a week? What do you do to each car? :)

Regular hose & bucket wash, (A rarity for me anymore)- 1 or 2 for drying
Rinseless wash- 2 for drying
Waterless wash- 2 to 6
QD- 2
Spray wax- 2
Remove polish- 1 or 2
Remove wax/sealant- 1 or 2
Windows- 1 or 2 waffle weave
Door jambs, wheels, tires, wheel wells, underhood, trunk, I use old cotton terry towels. My MF towels only get used on paint or glass.

40 or 50, maybe more. Only about 10 of them are waffle weave and I only use them for windows.

Years. I probably have some that are 6 or 7 years old. I don't think I have ever "worn out" a MF towel.

The majority of my work is on the weekends since I am still in college. I do about 2-3 regular washes( wheels, tires, windows, door jams, interior vacuum, wipe down all hard surfaces, QD application) on a weekend with maybe one full detail and a full interior with a regular washed exterior.

I use one waffle towel for drying, 2 meguirs MF for interiors (the vehicles I do are super dirty, no one in Mississippi seams to keep there cars in good shape) 1 terry for wheels and tires, 1-2 meguirs polishing MF for windows. 2 MF for quick detail and 2-3 for removing polish and wax.

As you can see I do not do waterless washes for the fact that the caked on dirt I am up against would be hard to get off in my opinion with that method. I do alot of work trucks and vehicles that live away in the country that have dirt roads.

I do the same..just add 2 more for wheels.

I knew I was forgetting something ... funny washing the cars this morning and counting towels. As soon as I came to wheels I knew I would need to update this post. You however beat me !
