Simple .... someone brought it up on the forum. How much on average do you spend on detailing supplies monthly?? (Hopefully with AG, but please consider all sources).

I'm not voting, I have been in it for less than a month! So far, pushing $500.

I try to spend as little as possible, but that doesn't always happen. You guys have a nack for making people want to buy more, and more.

Killer,I'm exactly like you i cant go to a store without buying more products.
I'm even making excuse's to go to the local stores in my area just to browse in order to by more. I never leave without something in my hand .

I guess my monthly tab would have to be calculated because I buy a lot at one time, then nothing for a while. I'm sure there are some of you that do the same.

I hate reading forums like this because i always come away with more ideas and more products to buy:(

Only joking i love detailing:D

i buy in bulk and then use up most products. and so far ive only had 1, actually 2 orders. so far ive got 500 bucks worth of supplies sitting next to my bed in 3 boxes:righton:

NOT IF THERE NEXT TO YOUR PILLOW:awesome:

I think my guess was an avarage. I am like s lot that just look for stuff to
try when I go out and I order a lot from the web. If I had to I probaby could
go a year with out buying anything and still detail my truck weekly. I got a
lot of stuff. My son shakes his head everytime he comes in my storage area.
Which off topic brings up a memory from a week ago. I was putting brake
pads, rotors and calipers on my sons car. He was watching. I asked him to
get me a rag. He goes in a comes back out with a Cobra Super Plush Towel.
He turned right around and went back a got another shop towel. He says
" I could tell by the look on your face that was not what you wanted".

Your Hooked:applause:

Damn, you guys spend a lot of money on this stuff. I mean, I guess I would too, but I got a few other things I need to save my money on. It sure adds up quickly though.

the problem is it is easy (for me atleast) to justify virtually everything i buy on AG because its basically the best products you can find.and i love my car and want it to look great. but its 10 years old and white so i got my work curt out, and not enough motivation to just do it already.plus im making it into a business... using these superior products to create superior finishes for show cars/exotics/ daily drivers/ and even big deisal dualy worktrucks. ill work on anything for the right price

I usually make small orders through out the year, I just detail my own car so the product last for some time. MF towels and QDs is what I look for the most since I use those the most.

What I've found after being in this hobby for a few years is that the first year is the "worst" in terms of spending money. You have to buy a lot of stuff. After that, so long as you avoid the issue of "having to have the latest new product that everyone's talking about," you're basically looking at replenishment. Wax you don't buy that often. You buy quick detailers more often (and thus a reason to buy in bulk). Etc. My own personal "rule" is that I only have two waxes/sealants at any given time (though currently I have three :), and then don't buy a new one until I use up one of the old ones. I won't buy a new car wash soap/quick detailer/spray wax booster/leather cleaner/glass cleaner/etc. until the old stuff has been used up. This strategy also works very nicely for keeping the storage requirements to a minimum as well.

Also, though, be on the lookout for hot buys when they're available, both online and offline. If your significant other is the type to shop at Big Lots-type places, go along. Meguiar's brushes, for instance, have been half off at Big Lots recently, and these are really nice brushes.

Yeah, I justify these purchases too, it's just there is a point where I have to say ENOUGH! Where that point is? I don't know, I haven't been there yet. I still need my foam gun, edge 2000 kit, and a few more poorboys products. Then I will be done for a while... I hope!
