how much time do you spend on washing, wax car?

It takes me about 30 minutes to wash my car. If I am spray waxing add another 15 minutes. If I am doing a true decontamination and rewax that would take a few hours. But I dont mind as I get lost in the process, its my happy place.

TOTALLY 100% Agree!! My happy/stress relief place!!!!

So, any tips for roof, windshield, bed window on that beast?

Well, I guess I have to say that I have the advantage of a 6'6" wing span. I just open the door and step on the running board and can easily reach everywhere with no difficulties. Back of the roof, rear glass and such is done while standing in the bed. On larger vehicles with no running boards I do use platforms like the Werner's

Note:
I don't really "time" myself whenever I clean-up our vehicles...I have worked under "time study" conditions before in my other Life...Glad I don't have to anymore.

So many factors affect time. Things like weather, experience, motivation, age, health, ability, tools, products, goals, location, facility, and lots more. I used to work with a guy that was twice my age, made half of my wage, yet would routinely out produce me. But then again, this guy couldn't pass a drug test if his mother's life depended on it.

I have this same one and that's what I paid. They had about 20 of them in the middle of the isle.

The brand I bought is Vulcan. Its called a work platform. There are a few brands that make them, all nearly identical. I will tell you the max weight on it is 225 lbs. Not a problem for most people, but I'm 6 foot 4 and about 240. Never had a problem, then again I dont really use it, my employees do.

Three hours sounds about right to me if using an AIO cleaner wax; an hour for the (traditional) wash, and a couple for the waxing. I rarely do everything at once though. Of course I wash all in one go, but when I "wax," I'm also decontaminating and polishing, in which case I may only do a section of my vehicle...so the "waxing" gets spread over a number of days. The only other waxing I would do is a spray wax, which goes pretty quickly.

I'll only do a simple wash/wax 2-3 times a year(ish). That only takes me about 2 - 2 1/2 hours* including the setup time for the wax to glaze over. Twice a year (spring and fall) I'll do more extensive work with clay and polish. That takes a good 4 hours*.

*These times may vary depending on the temperature and quantity of beer needed as well...

There are many variables as another poster said.

Yesterday I ONR Wash n Waxed my 350z, including the tire/rims (not barrels and just a little on the wells) in about 20 minutes or so. I do it in my garage, out of the sun and I don't do just one panel at a time. That is a complete waste of time if your car just has primarily only dust on it. I wash all the glass, the pillars, and the roof (so the whole top half of the vehicle) and then dry it. Lots of times I'll include the hood in that. Then I do a side and the rear bumper, then the other side, and almost always do the front bumper last. My front bumper is in terrible shape, the whole thing is extremely rough from rocks, bugs (wasn't always an AutoGeeker), and someone backed up into me once and marred it up. You can't even tell really though, because the paint was so bad to begin with there.

Standard bucket wash & rinse - 30 minutes
Wheels and tires (ea) - 5 minutes
Blow dry - 10 minutes
Optimum Spray Wax - 20 minutes
Pad applied wax - 1:30
Exterior glass - 20 minutes

Approximate Total Time - 1:40 to 2:50

It takes me longer to set up the stuff than it does to wash my car now that I applied a coating. I also coated the tires, but not the wheels. That makes the largest difference. If I go thru the process of light interior, exterior, and windows, I could spend 1 to 1.5 hours and that is on a smaller vehicle.

That is why it is called detailing!

HUMP

It's usually 2-3 hours as I wind up doing mine and my wife's,piece of mind, relaxes me. It makes it all worth while when your neighbors tell you that you have the shiniest cars around

for me its like 2-4 hours. really depends on a number of factors, though.
