How much time does a "real" polisher save over a PC?

IMO getting a Flex 3401 would significantly reduce your time in correcting....period. I started with the PC7424XP and it took quite a long time to do a full correction....in fact I was quite discouraged.

I bought the Flex here on AGO because I read so many good things about it on this forum. So I bought it and I have not looked back since. IMO you will reduce your work time about 50 - 60%. It is a night and day difference than the PC7424XP. It appears you have outgrown that DA. I would look into any one of Mike Phillips books on the Flex and you will learn quite a bit.

Another option is the Boss or Rupes system. I have never used it and do not intend to any time in the future, however, I hear nothing but rave reviews too! Either 3 I mentioned will be a significant improvement over the PC. I have delegated my PC7424 XP to a mini-DA. It does serve a purpose so do not get rid of it; use it in conjunction with the Flex or Boss or Rupes.

I have repeatedly set the 3401 aside in favor of the PC.

It takes me longer to clean the pad, wipe the residue off the paint, and move the cart.

A lot of it comes down to product/pad/technique. I never was able to get any cut out of an orange pad with my style.

Also, consider the Meguiar's DAMF system. Microfiber makes a huge difference in the performance of a PC style machine.

I will add that the Rupes Duetto fitted with their blue microfiber pad, and their Zephir polish is also pretty potent. I favor the Duetto over the 3401 as well.
