How NOT to detail a car especially a bentley

That pressure washer on the Mercedes interior is surely a joke of some kind.

The Monkeysee guy - there are no words. He's one of those guys who've been "doing it for 20 years" so they know everything. Whereas you take someone like Mike, and he says himself he still learns every day.

This obviously has to be a joke... I'm guessing that the video was made by a disgruntled customer who is trying to malign the business. No one could possibly say they are a detailer for over 25 years, and do that kind of job and then put it on the internet as if they are proud of it.

He used the dirtiest paint bucket I have ever seen. He said to not stick your hand in the mitt (defeating the purpose of a mitt), then after he used it to remove some of the grease from the door jambs, he just throws it back into the dirty water and starts on the trunk.

He must be one of thos $25 "whole" car detailers who do the "in and out" jobs as quick as possible. They probably buy tons of glaze and fillers to hide any swirls or defects/damage.

Just shocking. Heck when I was 10 I could wash a car better than that. Who uses fantastik bathroom/kitchen cleaner on a $200,000 dollar car? Not to mention risk it getting on the expensive interior leather etc.

Hmm, the company went out of business. I wonder if they owed this guy some money?

Bentley dealer: I know we owe you for the last five jobs, but do just one more and we'll get you paid.
Him: Sure, I may even video the process!

But man I wouldn't let anyone else see it. Btw, when I was hiring guys to detail my cars, I always feared just such a situation. An idiot. The high turnover made keeping someone from year to year tough.

Holy ####, WTF, OMG,NOOOOO CAN'T BE... These are the things that i was saying when i was watching these videos. Personally to save all his customers from heart attacks and pain we should all chip in and send this guy to the autogeek detailing school; just terrible

Ummm... I guess I can call my self a professional after watching this. J/k. this has to be one of the worst things I have seen in detailing. Pretty funny though. Oh yeah, I am fairly new to detailing and I am always learning. I guess he stopped learning after day 1.

Day 1 detailers are not that bad

I feel bad for the guy. You can tell he has a lot of knowledge...but unfortunately that knowledge is from 30 years ago. We have much better products and procedures these days. Gees, there was some seriously scary stuff in those videos.

I kinda want to go to his shop undercover and see if he really details this way. Maybe forward this to one of those news investigators and get him shut down. This in my opinion is almost as bad as some of the restaurants that get closed for unsanitary conditions

Wrong knowledge isn't knowledge. If the man is competent enough to film several videos, detail a Bentley in his own shop, he should be able to keep up with the changes in auto detailing. If you read his website it's not so much about hinged doing this for 26 years, he believes it's the right way to do it.

I feel bad for the customers. He mentions a lot of dealers send cars his way. It's obvious why. He probably charges way less and just gets the cars out the door as quick as possible.

I looked at his services... he offers a coating called Tef-Guard which is supposedly a registered DuPont product that lasts 3 years. There is nothing about Tef-Guard on the internet. The only link comes to the name being used for some medical device. I'm guessing it's the Teflon coating scam that dealers try and push on people who don't know any better.

Look at his wax video. He clearly has no idea what he's talking about or how to apply it.

You're right man. This guy is pretty wack. I mean what the heck is it!? A polish wax, wax polish, polish compound? What the heck!?

"Make SURE you have your gloves on!!". Because a little 409 on your fingers might kill you.

This is a disgrace to the detailing community.

Actually that's about the only thing I agree with that he does. Your skin can absorb chemicals through your pores, like how you are heavier when you come out of the shower because your body absorbed the shower water.

Companies that make and the companies that regulate the safety of the chemicals in a lot of household cleaning products determine the acceptable safety level based upon the assumption that people will only use those chemicals occasionally, like a couple times a week or so.

They are intended for HOUSEHOLD use, and not routine professional use. because of this, various household cleaning products may not be completely safe for regular professional use.
Because of this, I always wear gloves when using cleaning chemicals. If you don't, your hands smell like chemicals, and it doesn't wash off right away. It has to wear off. I don't want those chemicals wearing off on my finger foods and going into my mouth. Your hands don't taste good after you use chemicals with bare hands, so I think it's better safe than sorry to use them. That said, the nitrile gloves are what I use, not those big bulky gloves he uses in the video.

I have used those gloves for other things, and they make it difficult to reach into narrow areas and they reduce your ability to feel what you are working on.
Also, it seems to me that many women would not appreciate you having hands that smell like cleaning chemicals.

I just saw this thread and his videos and cringed through everyone of them.

Even an amatuer would know better than to make some of the mistakes he proudly makes.

I rarely comment and I had to login out of pure shock and disgust. I watched the wax video where he's using terry rags when he says wax @1:58 "takes off all the dirt, and everything that's in the clear coat". I'm sorry but this guy is a dipsh!t to reinforce the false idea that wax is meant to clean and improve paint finish. No jackass, the paint surface should have been prepped and cleaned with clay bar and then treated with wax". I think I just died a little bit today.

The sad part is, there are people that believe this #### as the gospel.
