i know many of you exercise ( what's the last form of exercise you've done? ) and try and stay in good health which i applaud each and everyone one of you and keep up the good work! a buddy of mine hadn't gone to the dentist in quite some time and was experiencing tooth aches when he would drink cold beverages and it wouldn't really go away. he went to the dentist and he had to have 3-4 tooth extractions (done on different days) and if the pain wasn't enough, the insurance would only cover so much and then he would have to pay out of pocket which i assume is in the $$$$'s. i know neglecting teeth can effect your roots/teeth and eventually make it's way into your blood stream which can cause serious health issues. so with that said... how many of you go to the dentist on a regular basis?

I go twice a year as directed by my dentist.

In the Army we are required to have annual checkups. If during the checkup something is found if time is available the correction is made or a future appointment is scheduled

Only when i have tooth ache, but its free here in Australia to get teeth pulled out.

I go 3 times a year; 2 from insurance coverage and one I pay for myself.

Insurance pays for 2 times a year, I go every 6 months.

Twice per year for a cleaning, check up and X-rays (when required) as covered by insurance.

About once every 10 years. No issues with my teeth at all.

probably 10 years ago. I didn't care to go to one after the dentist literally stood on the chair and pulled my tooth ( this happened in India. where else). paid him ~$10 I think.

The problem as explained to me by my dentist is gum health, not teeth health. Periodic descaling of plaque is what should be addressed. Gums degrade over the decades, not years.

Twice a year for me. In fact, just had a cleaning this morning by the hygienist and then the dentist takes a look. Didn't find any cavities. X-rays are done once a year.

exactly. the gums also need to be brushed (flossing too!) as well and neglecting that is just as bad as the teeth. you would be surprised in just six months what accumulates on the teeth/gums (from eating and drinking various things) when you get a good/thorough cleaning...

A bad dentist is like a bad painter - they can make you suffer big time/long time if their work isn't top notch. Not too happy with the dentist I have now - makes it hard to go.
