I own a Tesla and have issues with chatter/wiper squeaking! Big issues! Seems to be a trend with this car. They actually recommend to NOT apply a rain x type product on the windshield in the owners manual. Of course, I never read that part and applied rain x. Since then the windshield has been stripped numerous times, I've replaced the blades with Bosch Icons, then shortened the driver blade down to 26" from 28", and I've applied Detailer's Pro Series High Performance Glass Restorer about a zillion times. I have tried numerous glass cleaners (everything from water to DP Krystal Vision) and it's still not perfect. Even Tesla has attempted to remedy this on 2 separate occasions. They blame it on the initial Rain X application.
The current situation is that I've nearly eliminated the chatter but the wiper "squeaks" on the glass at the very top and bottom of the stroke (it's the blade on the glass - not the wiper mechanism). There is still some skipping but going with the shorter drivers side blade and the obsessive level of cleaning I've done has it to an almost acceptable level.
If I follow a process like the above post my concern is that the sealer will create the same problem Rain X did. My question is, if I follow that process and it makes it worse is it reversible? Can it be 100% removed?
If anyone else has any words of wisdom I would love to hear about it. I am local to the AutoGeek store (live in Palm Beach County). I would happily bring her in for a hands on inspection. THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!!
