How to best clean and protect this trim?

I've been reading articles here for well over a year and I have learned a ton of stuff, but i am not sure how to address this piece of window trim. I have some spotting that looks like dirt but i have made several attempts to clean it with no success. Any cleaning I have done has been during the wash process and I haven't used any chemicals other than duragloss wash soap. This is on the trim beneath all of the windows on an '08 Camry. Clean with APC, final wipe with IPA and apply Ultima Tire and Trim Guard.
 
I used megs apc 4:1, wiped with ipa, and applied the ultima and it is much better but is still visible. I am thinking about using straight apc and qtips next time to see if I can really clear it up.
