How To: Clean and Condition Ford King Ranch Leather

So Nick, are you saying (with 100% certainty) that the BL leather cleaner & conditioner are safe on aniline leather? The only product I"m aware of that is designed for aniline leather care is from Leather Masters which is fine - but it's four steps and with the wait times, takes forever to do the entire interior. Please clarify.

Hi Stuart,

Yes, Black Label Hide-Soft Leather Cleaner and Hide-Soft Leather Conditioner is 100% safe for aniline leather.

:dblthumb2:

There are specialist cleaners for Aniline leather which also act as stain removers - these are not detergent based products which are not suitable and will not be very effective as they will simply soak into the leather
Protects are crucial to help prevent staining and make cleaning easier
Hope this helps

Nick, thanks from the bottom of my HEART. I am a detailer in Dallas, I am asked all the time to detail Ford KR's. My response is NO. I have never found away that makes me proud that this job was done by me. I cannot wait to try this.

As always good writing style. Excellent job.

I feel sorry for "detailers" that don't read the info in this forum.

God bless,
James

I'm sorry but is this a april fools joke or something ?

The seats look even worse then before, and everyones ranting and raving about the results?

trust the name ? I will trust it completely,,black label simply turned the seats BLACK

Wow! First post!!!

King Ranch is soft-hide leather, not typical automotive leather. If you use traditional leather cleaners or APC, you are setting yourself up for disappointment and liability.

I did a King Ranch last year and I'm glad I had read Nick's post prior. The seats were a big mess, but the owner complained how another detailed practically destroyed them.

We used the PBL Soft Hide and brought back the natural luster of the soft hide.

The leather is supposed to look like the "after" photos... not the before. And if you read his post you need time to let them air out. The leather is so soft, it's almost like sued.

For better or not, in 2014 KR150's and beyond, Ford abandoned the soft-hide in favor of traditional automotive leather on the KR-F150, only using the KR for the arm rest....

If you view most of the posts in the Show-n-shine section, you'll find PBL Leather Cleaner in a lot of posts for Merc's, Porsches, etc.

I'm sure if you looked at similar posts on alcantara you'd probably say the same thing.

It's the only product I'd use on Soft Hide leather.

Hope this helps :)

Great advice on the how to.....but with all the horror stories of the KR leather, I use only cleaner and conditioner from the KR Ranch itself. Works great and no doubts if its safe to use or not.
I have use other Black Label products before, and they are fantastic!

I have the Pinnacle Black Label Leather Balm. I believe its a new product on the market currently. Does this work for KR Leather as well. Due to the time involved and amount of product to be used with KR leather what do you feel would be a good price for a KR leather care package?
