Hello All,

I've bought myself a new Kia Optima and it's got a silver body with a gloss black roof. The car gets parked outside and it's got a layer of 845 on it.

I was after something I can use to clean up bird droppings on the car especially if i'm away from home. In the past i've used a spray detailer but i've never owned a black car so not sure if theres a spray detailer which works better on black paint (black roof). I did a search and some people say certain detailers cause streaking or don't work properly with 845 so was after some advice. I also didn't know if I should go with a spray detailer or a waterless wash. I just want to protect the paint.

Thanks everyone for the help !

I always carry microfiber towels. Even a cotton terry towel will work, soak the towel and let it sit on the dropping until soft, then wipe away. Usually anywhere you go, has a source of water. Of wet a towel really well and put it inside a gallon ziplock bag.

Usually I do as well but I don't have access to water so need a spray.

Also a Red Ryder bb gun helps prevent further droppings. hehe Just don't shoot your eye out.

Hahahahahaha if only !

I'm surprised no company has invented a product scented in something birds hate so they stay away from your car!

Just put a stuffed cat on top of your car anytime you park it. Problem solved.

When it comes to bird poo it doesn't matter as much how you clean it as much as how fast you can get that stuff off your paint.

Try out Poorboys Bird #### Remover. I prefer using it over any quick detailer. Works well even on hardened bird crap. Spray some on towel and put it over it for 30 secs to let it dwell and break it down. Lightly swipe and rinse and repeat. Scratch free.

Subject: A decent size puddle of crap sat on my paint for about 4-6 hrs.

Product: It is a ready to use type of product straight out of the bottle without any diluting.

I let the product sit on the paint for 30 secs. Before lightly picking it up with a MF towel I gave the towel a couple sprays to add more lubrication/cleaning power. First pass:

Second pass as the product is breaking down the bird crap making it easier to dislodge it, and not having to scrape it off causing scratches

Third pass. All gone
