I have been on here a while but don't see much about this, but it is part of the car so I was wondering how you guys cleaned your door jams and with what?

If they are really gnarly, I spray with APC, hit it with some steam and agitate with a brush if needed. If they are fairly clean, I use ONR and give them a good thorough wipe down.

I've been using DP waterless wash spray and a mf to wipe down jambs on my car. So far it looks to be working well.

Ok, thanks guys. I'll need to pick some APC up on my order this week. I'm looking at getting Megs apc or apc plus. What's the difference, and which is better
?

I would go with Optimum Power Clean, P21S Total Auto Wash, or Blackfire APC since they are all paint safe. Not a knock on any other APC, I'm just paranoid.

*Edit - As mentioned, once you get them cleaned up and degreased, maintain with ONR or similar rinseless wash. Optimum Car Wax is fantastic for door jambs.

Meg's Apc and Apc plus are almost the same the plus has citrus smell and low foaming for carpet extractors
Except that not much to my knowledge

So since I don't have a steamer, just APC?

No steamer here too but if the jambs are bad.
Before washing the car I spray them with waterless or APC run over them quickly with a toothbrush and rinse with water on very very low pressure, takes only 5 mins to do them all. After washing the car or if the jambs aren't too bad to start with I spray them with waterless wipe with my door jamb dedicated chamois and then a quick wipe with a dry cloth to bring out the shine. That first times always the hardest but gets quicker with practice.
Yes I get my waterless by the drum, but hey should see my door jambs. Lol

I use Meg's APC Plus. It works for me, seems to be safe for paint. But it does leave streaking behind, so as others mentioned a quick detailer wipe down will help and so will a spray wax.

Same here. I rarely need to use my steamer on door jambs.

I use my chamois after drying the car. Just wipe them down and they stay nice and clean. I do this after every wash

Don

Just a wipe down with MF after wash is usually enough. If they are bad, I steam those suckers. Usually will hit them with spray wax or detail spray, whatever the rest of the car is getting that day. Once my Permanon arrives, I am going to try that or Opticoat.
