how to clean my alcantara steering wheel

My m3 has a alacantara steering wheel and it gets beat up after awhile of use. I already got bmw to replace it once but they said i dont have a second chance. How do I clean it and protect it?
 
So you have a material covering on your steering wheel? Doesn't sound like it would be very durable for a steering wheel. Maybe a steering wheel cover from Walmart.
 
Alcantara sucks for durability. Be very careful with how you clean it. I would suggest just wiping it down with a damp microfiber towel and you're done. Unfortunately, Alcantara fades over time especially since it's on your steering wheel and your hands are always on it.
 
yeah it sucks it looks like it needs a hair cut lol its all balled up :(
