How to correct streaks on Range Rover silver-colored exterior plastic trim???

What are you talking about? I was just making light of the fact that some members think this should clean up easily and some think it's permanent damage. Both views can't be right, and the two opinions are 180 degrees opposite from each other...but that seems to be the way the country is going.

So I guess it's up to me, the noob, to settle this once and for all. I know what I'll be working on this weekend!

I was trying to be self-deprecating and make a joke since since I didn't realize until after I suggested poli-seal that you had already mentioned it. Looking back it was one of those instances where it was clever in my mind but didn't convey at all in that post.lol. if i knew how to delete posts i would because it reads like I was experiencing a minor stroke while I attempting to put my thoughts into words.

You are right about everyone having completely different opinions and always stating their opinions as fact. The only fact is their are many products (like the ones we mentioned) that could easily clean that trim up, but unfortunately the majority of detailers still believe that all chemical/abrasive polishes damage trim when in fact many polishes and AIO's (especcially optimum's from my experience) can be used directly over many types of rubbers and plastics to deep clean and restore a uniform stock appearance.

Hey man, don't sweat it, it's not like we can't have the same idea/opinion and both post it.

Hey guys. Finally got an opportunity to work on the Rover trim a little this afternoon. Yesterday was pretty well occupied by changing the plugs and wires on my wife's AMG which has a total of 16 plugs and 16 wires. Mercedes makes some of those plugs pretty hard to get to so after I wasted most of the AM and part of the early afternoon it was a pretty late start on the Benz.

Anyway, I tried using some Chemical Guys V34 on the Rover's trim and didn't make a dent. I next tried the V32 which promptly removed the streaking but did so by cutting entirely through the paint! Problem solved!

Looks like I'm gonna have to pull the trim and respray it. I could probably find an intermediate product with a little less cut than V32 but at this point, why bother? I'm gonna have to repair the area where I rubbed through so I might as well concentrate my efforts on doing that.

I appreciate all the feedback guys!
