I've been doing the exact same thing with a Speedy Prep towel, just didn't know it had a name.

I'm sure this has been done for a long while. I've been doing a bit differently since I began clay barring.

I've used my washmitt at the soapy supply. Most people who have wet sanded understand the method, slowly squeezing your mitt as you go.

That being said, I like the technique. It works very well.

Ive been considering this for a while and something has kept me from trying it. Looks like I will try it now!

This is such an old method it's kinda a funny someone thinks it's new. Been doing this for way to long.

I tried this method a few months back. I did't really like it to much.

I woke up early in the morning and the sun still hadn't come out. So I washed the car. I then sprayed soap on the car and I was 1/4 of the way through claying with the speedy prep towel. Then the sun came out.

So it became crunch time lol :D

Other than that, it worked really good.

Is this conventional clay or the nano cloth? Feed back please
Thanks! :buffing:

I feel like this is a super safe method too
Safest and most cost effective I've come across!

It's what we call it! easier to say than lets foam the car and use clay / speedy etc, just say blitz decon! haha
How are you liking the speedy prep towel?

Not saying he was the first to do it, simply showcasing the method with a name but agreed I definitely enjoy the method
Yep this is the old school detailer method, nothing ground breaking here despite them taking credit for it.

I may be slow, but I do poor work.
I'm sure he knows he did not solely create this and as if this is coveted top secret etc, simply showcasing a cost effective and safe method to decon one's paint :dblthumb2:

Awesome, you'll love it :D

While it is not new surely some have not heard or have watched it properly demonstrated

both will work, even at the same time!
You can do it with clay or any of the alternatives.

Does this method do anything to lessen the chance of marring???

I was under the impression that a "clay lube" is recommended and that soap & water wouldn't work as well. Clearly I'm wrong but...I don't see a massive time savings. And there are times I like using the Porter Cable with the 6" disk. For light contamination, I go for the nano skin towel.

Thanks for sharing. There are some new guys that can use all the help they can get with tricks and secrets. This method works great if you are doing production work and are in a hurry.

Just a nice trick shown by our friend a while ago and we just used the moniker amongst ourselves. No need to get butthurt over what some call it. Pretty aware it's been around from the old days.

It's effective, I use it especially if I know I'm going to be polishing after. It does save me time versus spraying a panel and claying or dunking my mitt into a bucket then going after it.

^ mostly because it starts drying when the sun starts coming out. So you always have to make sure side B is wet while working on side A. (so the time frame part of it, is what I didn't really like) I think I might have gotten a few water spots. Don't see them now so they must have been really minor. Besides that, this way worked really great.

I thought it was gonna be a new decon product. Most of us have probably been doing something similar for a while now. The issue is that most vehicles need designated tar removal and iron neutralizing steps beforehand. Otherwise, the clay/poly-clay alternative will get clogged/dirty quicker and risk marring the paint. I have tried this with decon products and it breaks down the clay/alt. quicker and can cause it to leave particles/residue on the vehicle. In most cases This step works best on like new vehicles, or after tar/film removal and iron treatment. BTW, not to discredit Blitz detail l, but that's what these new Manor skin sponges were designed for along with the wash mitt. Just a matter of if you choose to use wash soap or clay lube for the process.

It seems all these products recommend using clay lube. Usually the lube they produce. I've tried both methods and found no difference. I also like having the bucket of suds available to rinse off my prep towel from time to time.
