I recently detailed my car with clay bar, CG V38 Optical Polish, CG Jet Seal and finally a coat of Midnight Sun Carnauba wax. Looking at a 30 degree angle after I had already applied the Jet Seal I noticed that there was some paint etching likely caused by a bird bomb. It is relatively minor from a depth standpoint but is an inch in diameter. The V38 did not do anything for it.

Questions. 1. What would you suggest using to remove the Jet Seal from that local area? 2. What would you recommend I use in order to try to polish out the etch. The car is an Imperial Blue BMW. I was thinking about doing that local area by hand rather than using my Flex DA Polisher.

Appreciate any suggestions. Next time I will look closer before Sealing!

Any form of compounding or polishing will remove the sealant. Also, you'll more than likely need a more aggressive polish or cutting compound to level out the etching. I wouldn't recommend trying to do it by hand though. Use your flex, a cutting pad, and a compound or aggressive polish and concentrate your effort on the etched area.

I had a similar issue on my Carbon Black 535i. I was finally able to get it out with Über Compound on an orange pad with my GG 6". I feel for you, these aren't fun.

V38 is a final polish and will do nothing for correction (as you found out)... use M105 or CG V34 on an orange pad.
