How to fix squeaky hinges (on interior home door)

Does anyone have any good recommendations on what to use to stop squeaky hinges on some closet and bedroom doors? I've read that WD40 isn't actually good for this. I also read that something like a chain lube would be good. I was thinking of one of these maybe:

I used to buy another brand and it was great for car and home hinges, but they changed it and it stinks now. Maybe that's why WD came out with one. It's possible a VOC issue is what screwed up the first one.

I don't know...

But I will say the WD40 version works great on Car Door Hinges, Interior Door Hinges, and other metal-on-metal applications.

Here is an old school method that will not attract dirt.

Pull out the hinge pins. Rub the pins and all the surfaces on the hinge you can reach with a wax candle.

No more binding. Lasts for years. And one plain old white candle will last for several generation. Also works on drawer slides. Aluminum sliding porch doors and screens.

+1 - first thing that came to mind when I read the title, and before I clicked on it to read the posts. Very simple. Apply and move on to the rest of your life (at least until the door is replaced).

This is the method I have used for years. One time I tried spraying the pulled hinge pins with silicone spray. Great for at first, but finally leaves black crud around the hinge.
