How to get metallic black clearcoat point to 'pop' more?!

Yeah i actually have the same pad in 2 inch - i think lol, nice pad. It's a soft pad. So i doubt that was the issue but sometimes detailers do find a medium polishing pad like the yellow uro-tec finishes out better on soft paint - i have no idea if your paint is soft..

Edit: Looking over the buff and shine site - They have a lot of pad lines! More than lake country.

Buff and Shine makes the one posted, a white polishing pad, but they also have an ultra soft white polishing pad! The one posted is a hybrid foam that's both open and closed cells, so watch the moisture retention and heat on it. I often see those collapsed from high pressure / speeds, and heat.

The inconsistencies also goes for two of their other foams. They have yellow pads where one is a European foam that's stiffer, and a softer one from their U.S. line that's a 50 pore per inch pad, but they're both cutting.

Thanks for the info i have the ultra soft pad i'm pretty sure. I also had the 2 inch maroon pad, that was a cutter for sure. I liked them pads. The Velcro was an issue on the maroon however. I just put on some crazy glue but the end of the pad was when i used a stiff brush. I still have the white 2 inch. Its the best 2 inch pad i have, everything else is shinemate junk.

I have a 2 inch backing plate on my griots garage G8. Funky little machine. Lots of power or noise lol I'm not sure...haha

I forgot to mention that they also make a white pad in the Uro-Tec line too. It first ultra finishing, but I believe they also recently introduced a black or grey pad in the Uro-Tec line that's even softer.

Those maroon pads great but I feel I get more performance from the dark blue foam than the coarse blue and maroon from the Uro-Tec line.

Junky pads are no fun. When my boss at the shop ordered the cordless Miluakee polisher he also ordered some pads from Ryobi, which are knock off Meguiar's pads, the backing came off after the first washing. JUNK!
 
I have/had the uro-tec white and maroon. Very nice pads. I was going to get another maroon pad or actually the yellow uro-tec pad a few times but i don't use the G8 much anymore and when i do i will just use my rupes yellow and carpro orange 3 inch pads.

I never tried the 5 inch orange carpro pad but the 3 inch is actually my favorite 3 inch pad. It is better than the Rupes pad in user experience. They just skip too much.(really not a fan of the DA pads anymore :D)

I didn't much care for the new design of the Rupes DA fiam pads.

While I love the LC HDO CCS, I prefer the profile and footprint of the B&S Uro-Tec.

I've always wanted to try the carpro pads. Might be next on the "to try" list.

Ours is the 15mm. It's built like a tank, with tons of power.

I haven't used it for a paint correction though. I'll report back if we have one this week.

I can say that maneuvering around the battery is a deal breaker for me. I don't enjoy rotary style polisher chassis as it is, let alone one with a big ol battery hanging off the tail end!

It is really well balanced in spite of the battery being on the end.

If the battery doesn't bother someone, they should consider it. But - I still need to see how the batteries hold up.

I know I'm absolutely WRONG on this, but part of me sees these battery power tools in a similar light to gel waxes in the late 90's or early 2000's. Just not quite there yet. Rupes Nano being an exception, because it's battery fits so well into the design of the tool, and the hard plug is the one that's awkward to a degree...
